26.) COMPLETE - Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
Going from the worst one so far to one of the best. It's actually decently-paced and has more clear focus on building a narrative around Jason's return, and it has just the right balance of brutality and campiness. Really solid, fun slasher film.
Humanity cannot gain a good legacy Shonen adaptation without first having a bad one in return. That is the first law of equivalent exchange.
I am learning rather quickly that lower ranks in Master Duel are not prepared for negating an upon-destruction summon effect, so a lot of times they'll take out my Arsenal Falcon only for me to drop Ultimate Falcon or RRF on them.
Raidraptors might not be meta but it sure is fun.
God fucking dammit, Aspyr.
Guess I'm not buying these remasters now. What a disappointment.
Of course as soon as I start getting into the Yu-Gi-Oh card game, Logan Paul has to come in and try to fuck it up.
Helps they're all really short. No real wasted time or momentum on them. You're in and out in less than 80 minutes. Very brisk, and that's to their benefit.
Genuinely, with the exception of the next film (which I find obnoxious) and Gigan (which I find boring beyond all reason), the final run of Showa films is actually pretty good. Hedorah is a psychedelic environmental film, Megalon is silly fun with a pseudo-Ultra, and the Mechagodzilla duology rocks.
Just got the Utopia and Red Dragon Archfiend structure decks, we now in this for the long haul.
Why are companies perpetually allergic to putting animated series made in HD on Blu-ray?
Dunno if I can do that, apparently the key cards for that archetype are in an expired pack. So I don't think I can get those right now unless they're included in a different pack down the line.
Everyone has their bad mental spots they find themselves in. Just take your time.
I had a Duel where I had two Rising Rebellion Falcons on the field and I watched as my opponent activated every single card effect in their hand for 3 solid turns to try and remove them from the field.
I felt like an evil villain watching the hero struggle in vain.
I'm past the point of no return with getting into the Yu-Gi-Oh card game I think because I'm playing Master Duel and I'm like "Wow yeah Raidraptors is fun to fuck around with but hmmm I wonder what a faster and more evil deck would be to play with?" π€

Where did you learn to fly?
Bugs Bunny in a tux saying "I wish all trans children a very live long enough to get revenge"
Darkness and nihilism are not necessarily bad things to explore in art, but believing them to be the factual human experience and peak of intellectualism is ridiculous.
Why deny hope and warmth as if those are less valuable? Shouldn't they be moreso?
And just so we're clear. You're *allowed* to make and enjoy art that says that, but I'm also allowed to call you a weenie for it. xoxo
There is plenty of room to explore the tragedy, the vice, the injustice that exists in this world in the realm of art, but there are many people I feel who only find comfort in being told "the world is a vampire, life sucks and then you die," and believe that feeling to be intellectual stimulation
A tragic ending is not inherently any more "mature" or "realistic" than a happy one. To believe otherwise I think says more about you and your outlook on the world.
People really love to mistake dour fatalism for depth and maturity huh

[NOTE: This is the beta listing for the planned sequel].
I just saw a TikTok video that referred to the band Bikini Kill as "Bikini Unalive," and it's like, what are we even doing at this point?
Some of the best Precure seasons drop at least one bombshell in the first 13 episodes so I'm happy to say we're on track for peak this time around.
This is true of a number of the Nozomi uploads tbh. Dunno why, but the encoding and transfer just isn't quite as good as direct DVD capture.
The only other adaptation to match the Mirage comics in terms of Shredder's sheer aura is probably the 2003 cartoon.
Fitting, as that's the series that Peter Laird had the most direct input on.
