"we must decide whether an employer can fire someone simply for being homosexual or transgender. The answer is clear ... An employer who fires an individual merely for being gay or transgender defies the law." -- Justice Neil Gorsuch, writing for a 6-3 SCOTUS majority

Three asterisks to an otherwise decent CPI report:

1) This was before the economic fallout from the war in Iran
2) The very favorable data imputation in the October report (due to the govt shutdown) unwinds after March.
3) Core PCE is running much firmer than CPI, and that wedge widened in Feb

4/ Ok, so what ARE the goals? It seems, primarily, destroying lots of missiles and boats and drone factories.

But the question that stumped them: what happens when you stop bombing and they restart production?

They hinted at more bombing. Which is, of course, endless war.

My lord all we’ve heard from hawks over the last 20 years was there are no Iranian pragmatists so diplomacy is futile. Now these chucklenuts decided the pragmatists were there all along we just have to murder their leader & bomb them to oblivion so they will emerge from the rubble.

Because you sickos love this, here's the updated flip count in legislative seats since the start of Trump's second term, following tonight's Dem win in New Hampshire:

Democrats: 28

Republicans: 0

With all of the early vote reporting in the #GA14 (Trump+37) special election:

Shawn Harris (D)- 43.4%
Clay Fuller (R)- 32.3%
Colton Moore (R)- 8.8%
14 Others- 15.5%

This one is almost certainly going to a runoff, but great start for the Dems in NW Georgia.

A related speculative thought

Per NYT www.nytimes.com/2026/03/02/u... Khamenei "preferred to stay in place and become a martyr" than go "into hiding"

So it wasn't hard to kill him but it made his death harder to cause regime collapse. He made dying for the cause more glorious than quitting.

Vance or Rubio in ’28? It’s a Question Trump Can’t Stop Asking The president has lately extolled the secretary of state amid the focus on foreign policy, but many see the vice president as a better heir to the MAGA empire.

"Vance’s supporters have alleged in recent months that right-wing influencers are being paid to criticize the vice president online."

@billscher.bsky.social: US War Hawks helped instigate the war of 1812 because they were too young to remember history and "believed plucking Canada from the British Empire would be a cakewalk." Youth is no excuse, however, for Trump, Netanyahu "and their hype squads..."
