Yikes, and this is why we do backups.

Just wanted something tried and true to minimise data loss possibility with the hopes it'd be easier to recover in case of the worst.

But I run btrfs on the root part myself

Wish we'd get to see the day Proton releases a Linux client. But suppose ill manage with this for now, at least i can dump my laptops data into a cloud backup now as well since i set this up

The main pc's finally been moved back into action with my main data drive formatted to ext4!

But one downside to this, my cloud backup went from a simple desktop client to having to Syncthing /home to a drive on another pc running the cloud sync client under a Win VM 🙃

Yeah, dualboot will still have to exist thanks to games blocking EAC under Linux and video editor I use.

But I see the future bright for this, been rocking Linux on the Thinkpad for 3 some years without a hitch, also on the main from time to time.

I've long been moving toward the Linux desktop on the main PC, but now the time has come to juggle all the NTFS drives to ext4.
Like how do this SlopOS decide to deactivate after a bios update and then be totally unable to tell me anything else than "we cant communicate home or your HW changed"
