Thank you so much ☺️ it’s nice having art classes this semester. Lithography is crazy involved but it’s a good upper body workout and the entire process feels like magic.

Drawing on a lithography stone created with crayon and autographic ink. The image shows the torso of a woman wearing a metal-paneled chastity skirt and a corset that she pulls open with both hands. Inside the corset, instead of a human body, intricate gears and mechanical parts fill the space where her chest would be. She wears a bra patterned like cowhide. In the foreground, flowers rise upward as if someone off-frame is offering them to her. A gingham pattern appears in the background. The woman’s skin is intentionally left mostly unrendered, while the mechanical and clothing details are highly defined. The piece critiques unrealistic expectations placed on women—particularly ideals promoted in “red pill” culture—where men expect a woman to be sexually available yet chaste, domestic and compliant, physically perfected, and emotionally mechanical, reducing her humanity to a set of functions and fantasies.
1st etch and second etch complete, though I forgot to get a pic of the latter. Printing on Thursday.
‘Hey’ came before ‘hi,’ and ‘hi' came before ‘hello.’
‘Hi’ is most likely a variant of ‘hey.’
‘Hello’ is not related to either.
Goodbye.
Because I was in
back of a clump, I turned away.
This was my reward.

close-up of a linoprint: one large stylised crow faces three smaller crows in front of a calm night seascape. A gold full moon rests on the horizon.

I’ve wondered that about the cent symbol too. I don’t have it either. Where did you find it?

Greed trickles down 😞
Agreed
At this point it seems the best one to use isn’t artificial in the slightest.
Someone needs to hurry up and make special glasses so we can see this 🤩
Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey: some arresting art on the side of a shop undergoing renovation. The 21st century version of the old ‘ghost signs’ that can still (but increasingly rarely) be found.

Some will. I had a professor a couple of semesters ago who was adamant about not giving extensions, medical or otherwise, for any reason. We could tell anytime someone would ask because she’d email the whole class reminding us of her policy. That woman was evil.
We had a similar thing happen with a leak under the house to a waterline which lead to the toilet. Once we proved that we fixed it and the toilet was a low flow one we were able to get a rebate. Twas a bunch of annoying paperwork though.
I miss Yuengling, and Labatt Blue, we don’t get either of them out here.
Thank you for participating 🥰

I’ve had a bobcat terrorizing my chickens for about a month now. It got four of them. The other girls have been stuck in the run ever since. Waiting on trail cam to arrive. Got a trap. Though I also heard there’s some sort of castle law out here with regard to livestock.
Everything seems awful and chaotic and powerless, so I am left to do what I can only do: share some beauty with the world. I have no wise words or platitudes, but I do have a camera and empathy. A shot from my first global geomagnetic storm (2024) 💛

I really want to. Although I've been known to fall in love with mediums and buy everything I need to work with them (I could not afford everything needed for litho) only to get tired of them OR excited by something new to me some time later. For now though, I'm in love with printmaking.
The noises those things make in the wee hours of the morning 😬😳
It’s so much fun! Print studios with all the goods for all the different printing mediums are so rare these days. It’s an honor to be able to not only learn the process but to have the opportunity to create in this medium before it dies.
Cards against humanity FTW!
Low-angle photograph of several black-and-white lithographs arranged on a large studio worktable. Each print depicts magnolia blossoms and leaves in front of a background of small, square tiles. The magnolias are rendered with detailed linework and soft tonal shading typical of lithography, with petals and buds standing out against the textured, grid-like tile pattern. The closest print is in sharp focus, showing crisp edges and subtle gradations of gray, while the other prints extend into the background and gradually blur. The white paper has slightly deckled edges, and the setting appears to be a printmaking studio with equipment and tables visible beyond the work surface.
1st attempt at #lithography complete. I wish there was a self warming ball point pen for autographic ink but it was nice to get the feel of the medium. Can’t wait for number two.
