For the first time in history, Chiefs from Treaty 6, 7,& 8 passed a unanimous no-confidence vote in Danielle Smith.

They raised urgent concerns about Treaty relationships, and the UCP shut it down, showing once again they refuse respect and accountability.

Enough is enough,Treaty rights matter!

Thank you to IslamicFamily for hosting a wonderful community iftar this weekend.

Coming together for a good cause and in the spirit of breaking fast together was truly special.

Grateful to the organizers and volunteers who made it possible. βœ¨πŸŒ™

The UCP’s Budget 2026 makes life more expensive for Albertans, especially the most vulnerable.

A 9% cut to the Alberta Seniors Benefit means fewer seniors qualify & continuing care costs rise.

Balancing budgets by cutting support for those who need them most is not leadership.

Alberta just experienced its deadliest flu season on record, with 250 lives lost. Meanwhile, vaccination rates have fallen to 20%.

The science is clear: vaccines help prevent illness, reduce severe outcomes, and save lives.

The UCP promised triage doctors weeks ago, but Albertans are still waiting.

Now the Premier is pointing fingers instead of taking responsibility.

Yet again, this government is playing the blame game while ERs remain overcrowded and frontline staff are stretched to the limit.

The UCP govt tabled a $9.4B deficit despite historic resource revenues.

No new hospitals for Edmonton or Calgary. No new schools.

Instead you get higher property taxes, vehicle registration costs, and new fees for workers, businesses and seniors.

They blame everyone but themselves.

This budget makes one thing clear: the UCP can’t manage money.

They were handed near-record resource wealth and still created a $9.4B deficit.

Now they’re projecting a debt twice as large as what we saw under the Alberta NDP.

Is this their idea of fiscal responsibility?

Pink Shirt Day reminds us that compassion and looking out for one another matters.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported. Bullying should never be accepted at school, at work, or in our daily lives across Alberta.

If you need support, call 310-1818

Today in the Legislature, I spoke about the crisis in our ERs and the lives being lost, including Prashant Sreekumar.

Doctors have been calling for a state of emergency, yet the UCP refused our emergency debate, saying there was β€œother House business.”

People are dying. This must be the priority.

Yesterday’s Lunar New Year celebration in the Legislature Rotunda was a beautiful reflection of the traditions, culture, and community spirit that enrich Alberta.

As we welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, I’m wishing all who celebrate a joyful and prosperous year ahead.

Today, I pressed the UCP on the Turkish Tylenol wastage.

They spent MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars on medication that never fully arrived, then paid more to destroy the remainder.

Yet they still cannot recruit or retain the frontline health workers Alberta urgently needs?

Albertans deserve better

As we return to the Legislature, Alberta’s health care crisis is impossible to ignore.

Today, we’re calling for an emergency debate on health care so the severity of this crisis is finally addressed with honesty, urgency, and real action needed from the UCP government.

Another announcement, but still no plan to bring more doctors to Alberta or ease pressure on our hospitals.

We now have fewer doctors per capita than when the UCP took power & Albertans continue to wait longer for care.

Albertans deserve real action, not announcements & wishful thinking.

The UCP spent $70M on a single sourced Tylenol contract.

Only 1.45M bottles arrived, and taxpayers paid $500K for storage and $718K to burn the remaining unused supply.

This is careless and reckless mismanagement. Albertans deserve answers!

New Angus Reid data shows a decade of decline in primary healthcare.

34% β†’ 45% of Albertans now struggle to find a family doctor or access the one they have.

Reports also show Alberta is one of just two provinces that have seen a drop in family doctors per capita.

This is unacceptable!

Reports warn Bill 11 will drive more doctors away from a public system that is already struggling to keep up.

The UCP are choosing privatization over real PUBLIC solutions & Albertans will be left paying the price.

Yet again, this shows how out of touch this government is.

Today is the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack.

We wear a green square to remember those we lost, & to remind everyone that we must continue to fight against Islamophobia, & all forms of hatred.

Islamophobia has no place in Canada, we can do better.

On Green Square Day, we remember the victims of the Quebec City mosque massacre and stand with Muslim communities across Canada.

Islamophobia has no place here, and neither does hate of any kind. Everyone deserves safety, respect, and belonging.

I’ve signed this pledge because unity matters now more than ever.

Albertans deserve clarity from every MLA on their stance. When we are divided, outside interests gain strength.

Alberta belongs in Canada & I stand with my Alberta NDP colleagues to protect our future together.

As a proud Albertan & Canadian, I stand with Team Canada.

Separatism solves nothing;
πŸ‘‰It won’t lower bills.
πŸ‘‰It won’t build hospitals.
πŸ‘‰It won’t staff classrooms.
πŸ‘‰It risks jobs & scares investment away.

My position is clear: Unity builds a better Canada, division costs.

ERs are operating beyond capacity and multiple deaths that could have been prevented have happened while the UCP government refuses to act.

Alberta’s New Democrats are demanding urgent action to protect patients and hold this government accountable for the crisis unfolding in our hospitals.

We often sanitize Dr. King's dream.

But his real dreamβ€”of no racism, no poverty, no warβ€”was a direct threat to the powerful. It's the dream that got him killed.

Today, we must confront the gap between his vision and our reality.

Commemoration without reflection is empty. #MLKDay

Keith Gerein: Edmonton’s hospital crisis an ongoing story of half-measures and false promises A crisis of emergency care in Edmonton was long foreseeable, and a site for the new Stollery Children's Hospital is no sign of progress.

Years back, hospital bed crisis was forecasted in the long-range planning.

The UCP knew this. They launched "Alberta is calling" Yet, cancelled the new hospital & underfunded the workforce.

This isn’t an overnight thing. It's poor planning & incompetency

Preventable deaths, β€˜near-misses’ caused by overcrowding in Alberta emergency rooms, documents show Physicians in Edmonton’s major hospitals recently called on the province to declare a formal emergency due to overcrowding

If you have waited in an Alberta ER lately, you have felt the strain.

Now, documents show at least six lives were lost in the last two weeks because of overcrowding.

These were preventable, and every Albertan deserves better. πŸ’”

What does it take for the UCP to either call state of emergency?
