Curlers spend more time competing for their medals than any other athletes at the Olympics. 9 game round robin plus playoffs.
Congratulation to Brad Jacobs and the rest of Team Canada on their phenomenal gold medal!

Of course I also managed to get a couple of LRT photos from the canal! Trains and ice skating: two of my favourite ways to get around. 2/2

Between last night’s screening in Kingston and tonight’s event in Cornwall I had some extra time.
So of course I took a short detour to Ottawa to skate the Rideau Canal! Two loops, 30km, rounded off with a smoked meat sandwich on the ice! Even managed an LRT picture for good fun.

A great turnout last night for our screening in Kingston. The Screening Room is a fantastic theatre (with outstanding popcorn)! Thanks to Social Planning Council Kingston and District and OPPI for putting together this great evening.

It was a very good day. Pretty fast even on the surface. And likely to get better.
We enjoyed our opening day ride and can’t wait to use it to get around the city (the connection with the Kitchener Line is a game changer for us!)

Yes. And much faster too.

McMaster University has posted the email written by the professor to Canadian figure skater Maddie Schizas, granting her an extension on her assignment.

β€œI’d say focus on the competition right now, and submit it directly to me when it is done”

This is a really lovely note.

We were very impressed overall. Stations were very good, the line was fast. Frequent service. Enjoy your ride!

Lots of people out riding line 5 today. And many there just to see the new trains. One of my favourite photos from the day.

57 minutes from Kennedy to Mount Dennis.
Much faster than the bus. A couple of missed lights early on but much quicker than Finch.
Service and speeds should get better soon.
A huge game changer for transit in Toronto. It will reshape the geography of the city very quickly!

The panorama seats are the place to be! No views like this on any Toronto transit vehicle.

In our current issue intro @dylanreid.bsky.social hoped the Crosstown LRT line would open while the issue was still on the shelves - and it did, today! A "soft launch" but it's carrying passengers.

A new era begins tomorrow on Eglinton! And an old one ends. Some more photos of the 32 bus, which will cease to exist east of Mount Dennis when the LRT starts running.
Photos from Glenholme, Oakwood, the Eglinton Theatre and Highbourne.
Enjoy the LRT rides tomorrow!

Tomorrow marks the most significant transit expansion in Toronto in 60 years with the opening of the Eglinton LRT. Today marks the last day where the 32 Eglinton West bus ruled the road!
Here are some bus pictures from last Tuesday at Keele, Blackthorn, Reggae Lane & Oakwood

On Sunday, Line 5 Eglinton opens! To better understand this corridor, we layered the route alignment relative to surrounding building footprints; space for cars, bikes & pedestrians; zoning; green space; pop. density; household income & senior populations https://ow.ly/ojyb50YaunQ
