Four growth curves for Scots pine yield class 10 and stand volume per hectare: lower smooth line (No Thin)—stand volume with no thinning, top smooth line (Thin TotVol)—total thinned stand volume, which is the sum of the standing volume (sawtooth line, Thin), and cumulative volume of thinnings (lowest step like line).

Economic evaluation of a tree breeding programme 📈🌲

In their economic sensitivity analysis, Saraev et al. show that using improved Scots pine forest reproductive material is cost-effective, outperforming the current timber production and financial outcomes.
