A lot of Americans, while still technically alive, have already given their souls over to evil and are completely dead inside

I do not feel 41. I feel either 12 or 600. Middle age is weird (it is my birthday. A Pisces, you are surely shocked)

In Defense of Effeminate Boys

No one before Ben has ever considered that trans women might actually be effeminate gay boys. No one has ever suggested such a thing to us, repeatedly, in a bid to prevent us from transitioning, or developed entire typologies around the idea, or reinforced it in multiple academic fields!

When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946.

In 2007, the US president was born in 1946.

In 2017, the US president was born in 1946.

And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.

Health care really is wild. I have basically stopped going to my straight pcp and just route everything through the queer nurse who actually listens and believes me. I had to tell my pcp what prep is, explain dysphoria, etc. etc.
I may be a Dr but, I'm only qualified to talk about the 16th century.

How do we know Pete Hegseth isn't trapped inside Pete Hegseth, forced to watch as he Petes his way through the world?

I can't imagine the horror of waking up every day as Pete Hegseth.

Everytime I read Yusek Komunyakaa, my admiration grows. But I also think of his child being murdered, and I simply cannot imagine ever putting myself together again.

Finally finished writing my book review for The Dynamic Spread of Buddhist Print Culture, by Susan Huang. At over 1000K pages, the book is a total trove of information and erudition. I'll post the link when it end up on H-Net.

Just saw a tiny home ad.

It's a trailer! I loved when my dad lived in a trailer park. It was the only time he was free. I will fuck with a trailer park any day. Sure, some smelled weird, but it was also

Just a neighborhood. Just working class people. It was great.

I am forced to miss the RSA due to illness. Track record for this conference is wild. I have gone 5 times (counting this one, since I paid), and been sick 3, including the great Dublin covid disaster, which must have been the greatest conference pandemic ever.

Fortunately this field is wide open and super easy. (Actually would be fun to do with quartos (we have none). So will have to think 18th century collections, alas.)

Sort of a perfect patron. Bothered all of us to help, made people, even students, curious about incunabula. Curators are busy, but I always love trying to make 15 minutes to chat with people when I can.

The suffering politics of the left could learn that last shall be first and first last. We will get nowhere if we keep at it

God the left is so insufferable. Bitches people got rent to pay, kids to take care of. Can't expect everyone to have tapestries on their wall at 30 after mom and dad funded their liberal arts and continued partial employment (which is why you have so much time to fight for justice).
