Are you on any manga press lists yet? You might be able to get more books that way, and access to interviews when they become available, too. You have more followers than the last comic book site I worked for and we were on press lists.

I think I need the Oshawott omg
Bruh wtf all my teams are playing and they're all getting blown out. Am I cursed tonight? ๐น๐น
My Sharks are currently getting DESTROYED by Buffalo (who I also enjoy as a team but they're not my beloved Sharks!) and o have to go get math tutoring in like 2 minutes ๐ญ๐ญ
Oh man I'm so sorry. ๐ซ๐ซ๐ซ
Oh man. I'm so sorry. I hope it eases up.
I only know this because of wildfire season here and my sister has severe asthma so air quality is important for us to monitor
Extreme, usually. ๐ค
Well crap, I need to hurry up. I'm running out of years to meet that goal ๐๐๐
Is anyone else having really vivid dreams? Mine are horrible nightmares but they're getting worse lately.
Lol it arrived. No problems ๐น๐น I think the package had fallen between her seats or something. ๐น๐น๐น
I gotta get my thoughts together on using sales effectively as promo cuz I've been totally turned off a book because it's ALWAYS on sale/in promos and recommended to me on Kobo. It could be the best book ever and exactly my tastes, but the constant sale thing has turned me off completely.
Currently into romances, especially contemporary ones that feel like a comfort show - The Pumpkin Spice Cafe series is a good example - and low fantasy/swords and sorcery style books, which much like my beloved urban fantasy/paranormal have seem to have fallen out of fashion.
waiting for a delivery, the driver shows up and can't find my package so she'll come back but... man that's worrisome. lol.
One more marketing thing before I go to bed: You can do everything right, follow trends, blaze your own trail, be consistent, pay for ad space etc. and STILL get no traction. It happens.
Luck is a major factor in marketing in indie spaces. Don't give up.
Anyway, I'm going to end this here because I can ramble about this a lot more.
I have blog posts breaking down more stuff on my ko-fi, and if you have questions, please ask.
Also, if you like what I do and find it helpful, consider leaving a tip. Thank you.

I think that you need to be aware of trends on social media, as well as advertisements and use current commercials as inspiration for your own marketing. Go look at magazine advertisements that you like and borrow ideas. Like I said, there are no rules. Make a Nike ad for your book. Just do it.
Trope boards are not a selling point for me. You can have a trope I love, but execute it in a way I absolutely hate.
For example, "detective with an addiction" could be L from Death Note or Sherlock Holmes.
"Food as a love language" could be Delicious in Dungeon, or Promised Neverland.
Also, trends change overnight, what's popular and goes "viral" is always shifting on social media. There is a balance of trying to follow trends and trying to do what you like and what works for you.
And this brings me to why I detest trope boards. I'll break it down in the next post.
Marketing is a lot of trial and error and iteration. If your meme flops, tweak it, change it, and repost it. Share it again later and repost your own work. Maybe your audience is mostly on late at night. It's a lot of editing, and figuring out what works for you, and what you like to do.
I think that marketing should be different for every project, and should reflect both your brand and your personality, as well as the product that you're promoting.
For example, if you hate making images, but love videos, make videos and promote more on IG/TT/YouTube.
Marketing literally has no rules. You can do whatever you want. Unless you work for a company that has rules and a specific look that you must follow, then you can do whatever you want. Meme your book. Make mood boards. Shitpost. Your marketing will look different for every project.
The difference is that you've been conditioned to think marketing has to be complicated and professional and look a certain way. You've also been conditioned to feel ashamed for talking about your accomplishments by people who want you to STFU and by people who aren't your target audience.
Let's talk about why you hate marketing, and why I think you probably don't.
First off, you already talk about your book, stream, youtube, whatever, you already talk about it on the daily. You do promosky posts, you play prompt games and do the 1 like = 1 (answer). It's all marketing. (thread)
It's just me and my emotional support Diet Coke against the world today lol.
(It's a blizzard here and we are concerned about losing power so I'm trying to conserve phone/tablet/laptop battery hence why I've been radio silent.)
This is my favourite console ever. I can't really pick just one. GameCube gave us Animal Crossing, Twilight Princess, and ran the OG Resident Evil 4. It was a weird console with weird games and I love it. Pokemon Gale of Darkness XD was on there, Killer 7, Double Dash. Twilight Princess tho.
Editing @tanukicutie.bsky.social 's BL hockey romance and I am SO crushing on the love interest, DuBois. ๐๐๐
I cannot wait for this one to be widely available, I think you'll all love it. A lot.
Not to be pessimistic or anything but you know shit's getting real/bad when there are Canadian Armed Forces commercials on Hockey Night in Canada. ๐ค๐ค
I've never bought anything in an eBay auction but I'm watching 3 right now to potentially get gifts but they're like 5 days long and honestly I am likely to forget about them ๐ญ๐ญ I also have a feeling one asshole is gonna swoop in on the last day and jack up the price out of reach. :/
I didn't forget, I've been busy all day. I will do this when I wake up for real because I have a lot of thoughts. It'll be a long thread and then I'll post it on my lo-fi as a blog post for easier access.
I did the "it's bread" silent hill meme for a book called Liminal, and it also happened to release on a blood moon so I did the breath of the wild blood moon screen and put the cover image on the Bokoblin platform. I did a mood board for that one too. We thought it was hilarious. :)
