there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for

For everything. I make art to find out what I’m thinking, I make texts to work out what I want to say and how I want to say it, I make exhibitions to work out how I [want to] feel.

My favorite days in California are when the light is warm and the air is still cool. Neighborhood ravens parry clicks and gronks, a tandem glide. The sun sets like the release of a hug, both too soon and exactly on time to see the smile in the eyes of the night.

i know i've been pretty quiet but here's the result of my January: a totally handmade, fully-functional marionette created for a local winter-themed puppet show. she's called the Winter Maw & she'll eat you alive, just like real winter

Yes! Remember when we used to make heartfelt, progressive, smart TV with lots of episodes filled with characters we loved and wanted to hang out with every week that gave us hope for the future and didn’t bum us the fuck out?? Turns out people like that!

I read some coverage of Content London this week that mentioned buyers wanting "returnable" TV. It was a fancy way of saying they wanted... weekly TV shows with weekly plots. Hope!

We can finally hear the long-hidden music of the Stone Age Ancient rock art was meant to be heard as well as seen and now acoustic archaeologists are bringing the sounds of prehistoric rituals to life

Didn’t know I needed to
see a giant, demonic hare parading down a wet and windy Irish street, to restore my faith in humanity, but there you go.

I LOVE seeing spec episodes from high level TV writers. It’s like seeing their old yearbook pics!

On my site I have a pretty decent database of spec episodes from produced TV writers: thebitterscriptreader.blogspot.com/2019/09/the-...

a scene in front of an island with palm trees about 10 minutes before sunset, the ocean is light blue and the sky is yellow, a pelican flys and then dives into the ocean with 15 individual frames plus the splash frame.

Alright, fuck it, enough of the shenanigans.

We're spending an hour to edit a series of a pelican diving into the ocean that took 3 seconds to shoot.

jking please continue with the shenanigans. we deserve it!

It's been a serious privilege to help curate this year's Women's List. The final list is an extraordinarily diverse range of stories worthy of the big (and small) screen.
