Baby elephants are friendly, curious, and very smart. They just weigh 250+ pounds. They’re born with hair to help them cool down since they cant control their trunk and their ears are too small. They grow tusks around 2 years old. And no, you cannot have one as a pet.
We have failed these animals. There were about 100,000 tigers in the wild in the early 1900s. Now they all fight extinction. Here’s a link to a tiger conservation effort. Give our kids and future grandkids a chance to see these beautiful animals.

Next is the Malayan Tiger. They are critically endangered and scientists believe there are about 150 left in the wild. They may go extinct in your lifetime. Your kids or grandkids may never see current footage of a wild tiger
Next we have the Indochinese tiger with only about 250 left in the wild. They were once found throughout Southeast Asia, but now are only found in Thailand and Myanmar. They may go extinct in your lifetime. Your kids or grandkids may never see current footage of a wild tiger
Next is the endangered Amur Tiger also known as the Siberian tiger. This is the largest cat species in the world. There’s about 360 of them left in the wild. They may go extinct in your lifetime. Your kids or grandkids may never see current footage of a wild tiger
The next Tiger is the critically endangered Sumatran Tiger. There’s about 200-400 left in the wild. They may go extinct in your lifetime. Your kids or grandkids may never see current footage of a wild tiger
There are only six subspecies of tiger left. The first is the bengal tiger. There are 2,000-2,500 left in the wild. They may go extinct in your lifetime. Your kids or grandkids may never see current footage of a wild tiger.
The drop in numbers in the wild leads to inbreeding. This means that there is no longer enough genetic diversity, and it leads to tigers being more susceptible to various disease diseases.
Tigers are suffering for a number of reasons. The root of those reasons is humans. Tigers are poached not only for their fur but also for pets as part of the illegal pet trade. Humans have also destroyed or taken over their habitats.
Everyone loves tigers but no one realizes that we could see them go extinct in the next 20 years. There were nine subspecies of tiger and 3 are extinct. Every other subspecies is either endangered or critically endangered. Thread 🧵
It’s international tiger day!! Here’s a thread about the tigers we have left and how they may potentially go extinct within the next 10-20 years if things don’t change!
