Excited to share our latest study in Nature Communications ✨

We map how cells clear DNA damage–stalled RNA polymerase II using a stepwise TFIIH β†’ ubiquitin/VCP mechanism, keeping transcription and genome stability on track.

Excited to share our new Nature study! 🧬

We (sidrituruci.bsky.social et al) discovered that CFAP20 helps clear stalled RNAPII, preventing harmful clashes with DNA replication machinery. This protects cells from R-loops and genome instability.

Invited speakers constitute only 10% of the total. Some cover their own expenses (as a courtesy). Everything is more expensive these days: room and equipment rental, poster boards, food. Fewer companies are willing to sponsor. It's not easy.

Sorry to hear this. It's a six-day meeting (5 nights). The conference fee includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Many meetings are shorter (2-3 days) and exclude hotel and food (to be bought separately).

New paper alert! 🚨

We report two Cypriot XP-A patients with a mild phenotype caused by the homozygous c.389G>A (p.R130K) variant.

πŸ‘‰ The variant affects splicing, leading to reduced XPA mRNA/protein but residual NER activity.
