Have fun!
Excited to share our latest study in Nature Communications β¨
We map how cells clear DNA damageβstalled RNA polymerase II using a stepwise TFIIH β ubiquitin/VCP mechanism, keeping transcription and genome stability on track.

Our great collaboration with the lab of Wei Yang and Kaoru Sugasawa is now online in Nature. Weβre glad we could contribute some cell biology to complement this beautiful structural and biochemical work.

Great response so far for the DNA Repair Meeting in April 2026 ! π§¬
A few poster spots are still available.
β¨ Early-bird registration extended to February 28th
β¨ New invited speakers added: check the site: dnarepairmeeting-egmond2026.com
Donβt miss this outstanding meeting!
Sure, sounds great!
Thank you! We should think about doing something together, considering our common interest in RNAPII and genomics.
The same CFAP20 that is highlighted here!
Thank you, Luuk!
Excited to share our new Nature study! π§¬
We (sidrituruci.bsky.social et al) discovered that CFAP20 helps clear stalled RNAPII, preventing harmful clashes with DNA replication machinery. This protects cells from R-loops and genome instability.

Fun X-mas party with the @luijsterburglab.bsky.social ! πππ
Invited speakers constitute only 10% of the total. Some cover their own expenses (as a courtesy). Everything is more expensive these days: room and equipment rental, poster boards, food. Fewer companies are willing to sponsor. It's not easy.
Sorry to hear this. It's a six-day meeting (5 nights). The conference fee includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Many meetings are shorter (2-3 days) and exclude hotel and food (to be bought separately).

Great, that is awesome, thanks! We were just discussing in the lab we need something like this for a project
New paper alert! π¨
We report two Cypriot XP-A patients with a mild phenotype caused by the homozygous c.389G>A (p.R130K) variant.
π The variant affects splicing, leading to reduced XPA mRNA/protein but residual NER activity.
