A knit beanie with a dark charcoal main color and a vertical band of bright rainbow colors running from brim to top. The color shifts about slightly so that it’s jagged at the borders.

My first “planned pooling” #knitting project. (Use specially dyed yarn and tension adjustment so the color stretch pools together.)

I have tried to do a crochet version in the round but it has never worked out for me. I think it’s because a crochet stitch eats up more yarn than a knit stitch, and so the hats I’ve tried only kind of worked but wouldn’t fit an adult head. So I gave up 😭

I love this version too!! And the dyer that dyed your skein is a delight as well 🥰 I made this one by knitting along and then knitting one row really tight so the colors shift far left and then relaxing again so they gradually shift back right and then repeating. I’m gonna try one like yours next!
