It was. But I’m not even tripping. I’m proud of who my experiences made me. Was privileged to afford childhood therapy. On meds as a kid. Left me dissociative. I quit at 18. It’s true I can’t focus. But I was able to set my own metric for fulfillment (a thing neurotypicals should learn) & I’m happy.

I was diagnosed early. Mom was an educator & knew something was not adding up.

But my experience was not so different from what Meg (If I may) is describing.

People just didn’t understand what it was. I was also suspended or expelled from every school I ever went to for behavior. Had to get a GED.
