I’m essentially really boring. I have a pretty standard 9-5 office job like almost everyone else.

I’m learning the piano, love walks in nature and used to be majorly into photography.

I’ve never hurt anyone, I just wanted a quiet life but I’m trans, so Labour don’t think I should exist anymore.

Thank you 🩷.

MPs regularly get letters from anti-trans campaigners via letter writing campaigns. In the past, that’s all they really got, but we’ve been trying to change that over the past year, The more trans supportive letters they get, and especially from those who aren’t trans, the better.

It’s a story virtually every trans person shares. We just have normal lives hurting nobody but we’re constantly attacked by society and have no choice but to fight for our very survival. All most of us wanted was a quiet life free from the horrors we felt pre-transition. We didn’t ask for much…..

Writing to your local MP is a good starting point, as is signing the NION letter. @nionwomen.bsky.social

I’m not sure there’s much trans people can do for ourselves because we aren’t listened to - although we will continue fighting for our rights. We really need everyone else to be vocal, make a fuss and be really clear they won’t stand for what is being done to us.

From the crippling dysphoria this will cause to the disintegration of post-op trans women through dissociative disorders and severe osteoporosis they know exactly what this would do. Some of us will run if we can, but many will suffer and die.

For those of us who were discharged by the GICs sometimes decades ago and for whom removal of HRT would be clinically dangerous, this would be a direct choice between leave the UK or die. Not all of us can leave.

Not in the UK sadly, our courts can’t be trusted when it comes to anything to do with us.

I agree, far too many in my generation are just awful! There are a few nice trans folk amongst the dross though 😀

This should absolutely be a routine review - I guess the question comes down to “Do we trust them?” given the NHS appears to be ideologically captured ATM. The big difference with trans adults is that removing HRT from some trans women is clinically dangerous. That makes it harder for them.

⚠️ PUBLIC HEALTH WARNING: We believe NHS England and DHSC policy on transgender healthcare shows signs of ideological capture by the gender critical movement. Current decisions risk serious harm to trans people and undermine evidence-based care.

‘A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "No arrests were made in relation to this incident."’

We’ve all seen the video of the incident which looked pretty violent to me. I’d really love to know why there weren’t any arrests.

Oh, I’m hanging around to see every one of them that’s still about hauled in front of the eventual public enquiry. Mind you, I might be in my 80s or 90s by then………..

I’ve not had the heart to read it yet, but if that’s a claim they’ve made I’d like to know what “powerful drugs” the authors were on!

Zack, please could you comment on where you stand on the NHS decision to stop prescription of HRT to trans 16 and 17 year olds? The NHS appears to have been very selective in the data it used and is now reviewing the position for trans adults as well which may be equally problematic.

Yes, I always feel a bit awkward sharing as I know my experience was better than so many. Yes, I had to put up with Richard Green, but I only got funding for a GIC referral because I had a very caring GP who wasn’t taking no for an answer.

Same here - maybe someone we know could DM us if they have any good sources.

Agreed, this poster is clearly not interested in us. I have a stance on the Greens that’s nuanced - I really want them to do better, there are things I felt let down about, but they are the best we have at the moment!

Not really, I left the Greens months ago after they didn’t comment on the WellBN situation. I also notice they’ve not commented on yesterday’s HRT announcement.

So to anyone in the government or the NHS reviewing the effectiveness of HRT in trans people I have a simple message for you. Trans healthcare saved my life - denying people like me that care is immoral and will undoubtedly lead to unnecessary deaths. 5/5

All of this took a while, but by 2002 I was taking HRT and it was like a wonder drug. All the mental anguish I’d felt just dissolved away. I finally felt like me in a way I never had before in my entire life - that has never changed in the 24 years I’ve been on HRT. 4/5

I still remember going to talk to my GP about how I felt, but I hit lucky. He already had a trans patient who he’d helped and he was massively supportive. He arranged for me to see the practice psychologist, arranged speech therapy and fought beside me for the funding to refer me to a GIC. 3/5

I was in so much pain and everything came to a head stood in my kitchen one day holding a carving knife. I must have stood there for at least an hour trying to decide if life was worth living. In the end, I decided to transition and if it didn’t work out to revisit my decision later. 2/5

🧵Trigger Warning: Suicidal Ideation

It’s the 26th anniversary of the clinical psychologist at my GP surgery first diagnosing me with severe Gender Dysphoria next month. I was in my 20s and prior to that I had been withdrawn and would barely speak to anyone unless spoken to. 1/5

I never did DIY, but waiting lists weren’t such an issue 26 years ago. If I wasn’t on HRT there’s no doubt I’d be long gone. I’m actually thinking I might need to investigate DIY to build a stockpile up incase……..
