The solution would be complex but it doesn't fall on Black women at all. it falls on Black men. WE, my brothers, need to tighten up and give more empathy to the Black boy. Be the Black mentor you had or wish you had to a Black boy today.

I would love it if my Black brothers and I could be more honest on these discussions. Imma be honest talking to many brothers on this topic in the past many just dismiss the Black boy and say they need to deal with it like they did. They aren't well. Others blame women. They definitely aren't well!
Looking at my childhood, I understand how my brothers ended up they way they did and I also understand why Black women would feel reservations or even be sensitive to this conversation. It could feel like another way to make a topic male focused and fuck that protect your peace. So what to do?
- Taught Misogyny: Look my mom and many of my friends' moms who were like her taught misogyny. My mom would say greasy shot about Blck women. Basically inline with yall are all out to get me and she is the only good woman my brothers and me would know. So now we harbor distrust of Black women.
- Pedestal: My mother is a light light skinned Black woman she could get away with murder and was a great story spinner. If let her tell it my brothers and I were the worse mfs on the planets. The church & Black neighbors believed her. She made sure to keep us isolated from them.
My brothers and I experienced these three things.
- Mentor : Besides my dad, who did this to a limited capacity so not perfect, there were no mentors. We werent "bad enough" earn one. Lottle engagement. Honestly for me most of my interactions with Black adults growing up were negative anyway.
- First lack of Black mentors or attention from mentors to correct behaviors and listen.
- Second Black moms are put on a pedestal collectively. Saying anything negative about yours will have you isolated/ridiculed.
- Third from my experience, the moms that are bullies teach misogyny at home.
My mother was abusive and a bully. My two brothers who share her as a mom are not well. There are three primary factors I think that lead to Black boys not having community to deal with this trauma ( thats right word right?) I'll keep the points short and share experiences.
Black women protect Black girls. Period ya'll are awesome.
Black boys are left to fend for themselves more when their mom is abusive. Isolated.
Bear with me not making excuses for Black men behavior. Black women deserve better (the world in fact). Just want to share my experiences and thoughts.
my experiences:
Black women have their mothers being their first bullies many times too. The outcomes are different.
Those women that "forgive" seem to be cool woth their moms and those that don't just simply cut ties. Women rebound.
Men don't.
Black women do not owe us anything on this front.
