It’s an absolute dereliction of duty that the Trump Administration didn’t have a plan in place to get Americans out of danger.

Reminder that a president can't just "announce" a permanent new DHS secretary by fiat; Mullin still has to get confirmed by the Senate. He needs 50 senators to support him (and there's a very good chance he'll get that).

So they have no plan. Got it.

Markwayne Mullin is a knuckleheaded plumber and the only Senator not to have a bachelors degree. Republicans in the Senate confirming the Mullin appointment to run Homeland Security will show their usual disregard for the well-being of the citizens of this country while blindly pleasing Trump.

This was entirely preventable.
