Reading the classics is great. But if you want to connect to a modern audience you also need to read modern books.

This was the challenge casting Daenerys in GOT. She was weak and helpless in season 1 but had to project strength and regality for the next 6 seasons. Finding an actor that can do both is a challenge.

The challenge with casting Mistborn is that whoever plays Kelsier will carry movie 1 but it'll be on Vin to carry movie 2 & 3.

She has to have chemistry with the entire cast. She has to act weak & vulnerable, at first, but transition to extremely competent and strong for the rest of the series.
