So no sports report will talk about this, because men. The Women’s University Volleyball championship is this weekend. You can watch the games on CBC Gem. There are incredible athletes playing and the games are very exciting. UBC unfortunately got knocked out last night. Finals are tomorrow.

Woot woot. Have watched their matches they have been incredible through it all.

Anyway it is just how society is right now. If you can pay to win, then pay. Screw having knowledge or having to strategize or having to think for yourself and make good choices……if you have the money you win.

This means there are tens of thousands of teams that are pretty much the exact same and they are all essentially tied for first place. This makes it boring and it means we have zero chance of winning.

Of course there is an option that you can pay to have a limitless salary cap. This pissed me off. As a family we decided to play within the confines of what we were given. But tens of thousands of people have chosen to pay…….

My fam is big F1 fans so this year we decided to all play in the F1 fantasy league. Doesn’t cost anything to join. You pick 5 drivers, 2 constructors and have a $100m cap. Sounds good right. It’s tricky to pick a decent team with more than 1 top driver……..

Watching Stand By Me with the kid. It is such a good movie. I totally forgot about the whole Lard Ass and leeches things. So glad we decided to sit down and watch this this afternoon

and yes I am currently procrastinating hard on writing a research paper on the ecology of the understory of BC Temperate Rainforests and how the native species can be used to inform good horticultural practices in the lower mainland, by complaining about having to write this essay.

Its not even the research that I mind that much. I like reading and learning that way. Its the writing. I'm an okay writer, but if I had the option I would rather just sit with an instructor and have a discussion about what I've learned via my research rather than having to write an essay.

I think I have finally learned why I have always disliked school. I don't mind sitting in classes/lectures and learning, I don't mind studying for tests, I don't mind having tutorials and informed discussions. I really dislike researching and writing papers. That's it. Well that and math

He's just another conservative doing what they do best, playing a victim card, when there was no victimization.

The older I get the more important some stuff is. I am not an exercise fiend by any means, but its harder to build muscle so I have to try what I can. Wish I had done more in my youth :) Getting old really sucks and I'm not even that old (or at least I don't think I'm that old)

You know that every politician in the Us has made money though. I know based on my past experience working in regulation and compliance in the markets that they all traded on info before it was public, they all participated in some kind of manipulation or insider trading

Why does everything with protein in it taste like chalk. Kid just gave me a new protein bar to try, that she loves and it has the texture of wet chalk

Cheshire van driver cleared of dangerous driving after four-year-old's death Four-year-old EsmΓ© Rose Weir was run over as she rode her scooter along the pavement to pre-school.

In the news today, a cyclist on the pavement who killed a man is charged with manslaughter.

By contrast, here's a van driver who killed a little girl. He was driving on the pavement: common, and illegal. Killed her. Only charged with dangerous driving. Fully let off.

Pretty much every Vancouver highschool kid has had their graduations cancelled or punted to shitty dates like a Tuesday evening, because of FIFA. Now having to scramble for space even though some scoools had the space booked years in advance. Looking at you Westin Bayshore

Mini eggs and plain chips are my healthy eating downfall

Or maybe not. I don’t know. It ticks me off that the publishers are limiting who can sell their product and how many copies a library is allowed to own the license for

Thanks for the offer. I’ll go buy a copy than my husband can read it as well

I have had the book on hold at the library for months now and wanted to item to or read it before the movie was released.

Not just crossing the border, I divested of most of my US stock holdings (I’m willing to take the hit), I don’t buy American made goods, don’t shop in American stores located in Canada, I try my best to avoid American grocery/food products (that one is difficult with some items).

I’m watching a documentary about Fukushima on that day and it’s just so awful. I’m so sorry that so many people had to endure that and that so many lives were lost.

I am thinking of everyone in Japan tonight/tomorrow/today. The stories from that day are heartbreaking. Japan and its citizens are resilient and strong, which is something to be proud of in the face of natural disaster.

March 11th is a day that I stop and reflect. I was not in Japan when the earthquake happened but have many friends that were. I have heard the stories. I have experienced earthquakes but nothing even close to that size. I just can’t even imagine.

One of the things I miss most about living in Tokyo is Kappabashi, kitchen/housewares central. OH my gosh I have so many great dishes from the stores on that street. HEAVEN!
