Abolishing 83% of USAID's humanitarian programmes is something we never thought we'd see. We had hoped that Judge Amir H. Ali would revive the thousands of contracts they have abruptly terminated for U.S. aid & development work around the world, but this is not the case.

The funding freeze has highlighted how many of these charities & NGOs do not have a financial 'cushion' to navigate such an immediate change. We therefore encourage donations to continue until we know more.
A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to temporarily lift a three-week funding freeze that has shut down U.S. aid.
The judge said he plans to issue a written ruling in the coming days on whether the pause will continue.
We will be monitoring this closely.

This is going to have a global impact on health initiatives, and set medical research back even more than we had feared.
Every day we're seeing more stories about the financial impact of the funding freeze on PEPFAR organisations. It had been reported that HIV/AIDS organisations would continue to receive funding, but news articles suggest this isn't the case. We welcome clarification on this from anyone in the field.
We're not U.S. based so we can't comment on the specifics... only what we've seen on social media about some prominent news organisations failing to call out what is truly happening.
Our focus is more on trying to get financial support to these charities while the U.S. sorts itself out.

Schools. Vaccination programs. Medication and medical equipment. Media organizations. Literacy programs. All face the chopping block after the Trump administration moved to gut the United States Agency for International Development.

If, for example, the Chinese state did half of what Musk and Trump are doing to the US federal government, degrading its capacities, undermining its ability to function, destabilising the Union, it would be considered an act of war.
These are not patriots. They're an urgent threat to national life.
Something can ALWAYS be done. We can ALL look for ways to help. And we're always stronger if we work together.
With the major media networks in the U.S. often failing to report on what is truly going on, it may be that they'd reject those ads.
Ultimately we need both a 'top-down' and a 'bottom-up' approach, but never forgetting that lives are on the line. Food, healthcare, safety, and emergency response.
