“Everyone deserves respect and everyone deserves the safety of being able to exist. Trans people are no exception to that.”
“Everyone deserves respect and everyone deserves the safety of being able to exist. Trans people are no exception to that.”
The stonewall star on my left wrist, a tattoo I had done in Denmark Street on the evening of my first day as Sarah, 1 June 2010.
The old Stonewall star, to the left on red, guiding the way
The new Stonewall logo, a blend of Tory and Reform blues with an arrow pointing right.
A moment on Stonewall.
It is significant that Stonewall has lost its star. A star shows the way; it sets the direction. The young man who glibly told
me how he’d ditched the star because it was outdated has no idea what they’ve lost.
I had it tattooed on my wrist in 2010, before S*onewall had a T…
As @holz-bau.bsky.social often points out, we don’t have a single bike lane wide enough to do this unless you ride in the opposite direction in a 2 lane one. Not even on our waterfront did we build one wide enough for side by side biking & that came with a 90’ wide stroad with parking on both sides
I love it! The Jenkins-ometer is correct again.
When Simon Says, it’s always wrong.
In two minutes this doctor explains why anti-trans hysteria is completely unscientific and based on a fundamental misunderstanding of how transitioning facilitated through the medical system actually works
I went to CHX fearing the worst after watching George and Julia. I thought they’d help; instead I was made to wait and wait and then threatened with being sued for defamation for saying how they lacked any empathy.
Thank goodness I had Dr Richard Curtis and James Bellringer to turn to. Both saints.
Transmission "also proved that, beyond the so-called Labour government, there is very real and visible and significant political support for trans people."
What's up, Wembley?
🏳️⚧️
I’m still rolling it over in my mind. So good.
10,000 people packed OVO Arena Wembley for Trans Mission. Music, joy, solidarity.
Two of the loudest critics of trans people turned up hoping for drama… and were mostly ignored.
No chaos. No “trans mob”. Just a great night.

Sam’s intelligence market.
A post from Yoni Appelbaum that reads "Albuquerque turned a wall of its airport bookshop over to its local university press, and goddamn, now I want this in every airport." The post includes a photo of a wall of books with a sign that says University of New Mexico Press.
I usually avoid posting things from the other place but I will make an exception because this is so damn cool. @yappelbaum.bsky.social
Hearing reports that thick white smoke has been seen in the sky above Israel, so I can only assume that after much deliberation that they've chosen a new Jeffrey Epstein
I have a way better idea. The best idea anyone has ever had. In fact, I should get a FIFA medal for it.
pitch an unnecessary sequel
Melania 2
“She’s the exception, I am the rule.”
Such articulate cutting through of the nonsense around puberty blockers and eg Keira Bell’s detransitioning from Stephanie Lynnette on GMB this morning. It is also a refreshing relief to see a trans person actually being allowed to speak for once!
That is wonderful.
I’m sorry I missed the end of the concert but the Met line was messed up, we’re old and we had an early start this morning. Definitely our loss!
It’s fucking hard: she’d been a great friend, invited me to her birthday, introduced me to her family and her new partner and supported me through my own worries. But associating with Maya is a red line for me. It’s more about my mental health than her as a person.
The all-gender loos had a different binary: doors at each end of the room - but we were all very British and formed two good-humoured queues.
I didn’t see a ‘Hateful GERMs only’ toilet so she must’ve waited till she got home.
childish annotation, deleting canal and inserting tunnel
Oh come on, the answer is simple! A tunnelled canal, an underground aqueduct!
He *glowed* in that suit. He was radiant.
About ten years ago, I hugged a friend for about ten minutes outside the tube station after she’d told me that her husband had transitioned and their marriage had ended. She’s a journalist, apparently progressive.
Then I saw Maya in her contacts list and that’s where our friendship ended.
My wife came with me last night, her first time in the Arena since her dad took her to see the one and only ABBA concert. She’s a foot shorter than me and about the same weight. Seeing Beth Ditto on stage made me so happy because there was a *real* body, an object of desire with such powerful agency
Such an amazing evening at #transmission. This was the moment that broke me. Seeing the amazing @alicemydaughter.bsky.social on stage. Currently in floods of tears to see such a brave and wonderful @transparentaction.bsky.social on our side.
Agreed! @alicemydaughter.bsky.social Caroline was wonderful.
So many highlights from Transmission Live at Wembley but dancing backstage with Beth Ditto very much amongst them.
OMFG! She was brilliant! You are brilliant!
We were in the oldies’ seating in the back, but Beth had us rocking.
How about… a real diplomat? A career diplomat? Get Sir Matthew Rycroft back into his old department and be a grown-up in DC? Yes, DC is usually a political post (my dad was there in 1986-90) but this time we really needed some genuine diplomatic skills, not a paedophile’s bestie.
