Haven’t introduced myself in a while on socials so hi 👋 I’m Marcia I’m a farmer turned software engineer and I help businesses build a web and now LLM presence, and automate tasks without monthly or annual subscription. I also love helping startups with filler temp roles!

Sadly only app that actually does this well is paid but I like it - AppBlock

Still battling my phone addiction but I found out scheduling time where I can’t do anything with my phone except make calls or texts or use the Internet and maps has made me less anxious and for the first time feel rested after sleeping for 8 hours

Hi so it covers my music and all YouTube stuff and some live stuff I really think it’s worth the money because of how much I watch YT and I feel better knowing I can watch my favorite creators and support them somewhat vs like Netflix

I really sat thru my subscriptions again and realized I really don’t need audible when I have Libby and can cancel all my streaming and just keep YouTube premium. I also decided Amazon prime also needs to go. I’m keeping it simple going forward.

Also realized going above and beyond in customer service is so rare that when I do it for my customers they give me so much credit and grace

I heavily utilize AI for almost everything except customer service. I still pick up the phone or respond without AI assistance because it’s been my biggest retainer in current customers. I get so much positive feedback as a tech company I have a real human to talk to first.

In feminism they always teach “don’t let one man be able to starve you” I think it should be extended to “don’t let one company (most likely run by a man or is your decision maker) be able to stage you”

Most of my biggest leads come from just going “hi I’m Marcia I build websites, apps, and I automate stuff away nice to meet you” and then I don’t bring it up and the client that needs me does the rest of the “selling” and I just ask follow up questions and we reach a deal.

I know I’m getting too old for Disney world because after waiting 2+ hours for a ride under 3 minutes my favorite part of the ride was being able to sit down lol 😆

The song McArthur coming out right when my parents sold the last of the farm land they had hit way too hard. Even tho I’m happy they just got their first check and aren’t over budgeting going to the grocery store or pharmacy.

I pushed a new change for my app BunINDEX and got this amazing response when we announced the software updates. New feature was adding notes for bunny breeders and being able to change breeding statuses to active, sold, weaned, and deceased. #BuildInPublic

Networking win: met a local tow truck owner who couldn’t afford a website, so we agreed to build his web presence on a budget. 2 weeks later my truck dies at Costco. I call him, he walks me through fixing it over the phone. No tow, no embarrassment. I upgrade his site above scope #100Devs

Came to an epiphany today a lot of us already have “passive income” if we have a 401K or Roth or any kind of investments (I don’t count day trading or weird crypto or MLMs) it’s just not actively paying us… yet.

Still doing my #100Devs #codewars 3 years later! This used to take me 30 minutes and now it takes me under 2 minutes to complete problems like this! Yes I still use “PREP Method”.

Hot take for today is I think if you’ve committed domestic violence, assault, are on the sex offender list your dating profile should be flagged for all users to know and I don’t think that’s an invasion of privacy 🤷🏻‍♀️ yes I just read too many cases of violence on the apps

I rewatched the “before” trilogy as a 30 year old. I first watched before sunrise when I was 20. I used to think this was a cute story that turned sad. Now at 30 I think both main characters are toxic and villains. They definitely just needed to go to therapy.

Well AI saved me again. I had the check engine light come on and instead of embarrassingly calling my dad for help I got the codes read and found out what the issue was and that I could get it straightened out. Like this would’ve been a $500 trip to the mechanic.

I know using AI is bad for the environment but it DID save me a hvac tech fee and a house that was losing heat in 11 degree weather while I worried about pipes. I went from panic to fixing the filter and a cold to 75 degree house in 20 minutes from a few prompts and photos.
