It's fine to just not like musicals, that I have no issues with, it's the nitpicking about the singing that bugs me. Do people truly just lack that much joy in their hearts that they can't imagine that sometimes people just wanna sing?

idk, if ppl can wrap their heads around title screens & soundtracks & the lack of functional bathroom spaces in movies (to say nothing of dragons, magic powers, space ships, etc.), there's no reason to get hung up on the singing part
The numbers in a musical are providing the soundtrack AND the internal monologues of the characters AND the external dialogue of the scene all at the same time. They're multi-tasking to fit more story into a limited amount of time. They're a bit like a montage, honestly
"I don't like musicals bc I don't get why everyone's bursting into song all the time" so do you just not watch movies unless they have 100% diegetic soundtracks or...?
Take a nap, you loser
Really underestimated how much of adult life was going to be explaining the same thing over and over again to different people, bc something *I* think of as a very basic concept is not that
My favorite meal to make when I'm depressed is (perhaps weirdly) risotto. Bc there's not a lot of other meals you can make that give you a legitimate excuse to stand there and stare at the wall for 30min straight. The only real prep is grating cheese & boiling stock, and then it's just

-holds up Lestat like he's an angry, feral cat- Your honor, I love him, he's a petty little bitch who has has done every single thing wrong since he took his last breath, but is that REALLY any reason to punish the man?
You do not need to know anything about the setting to join, as it's gonna be a more relaxed place in terms of the canon. All you need to know is: Dragons, misfits and exiles, and a hidden community is on the brink of being rediscovered. Whether they want to be or not
Hey all, I'm hosting a text-based rpg set in the Dragonriders of Pern series. The site officially opens in less than 2 weeks, but now is a great time to join just to get familiar with the setting: knollweyr.jcink.net
My "What You Need To Know About Tear Gas" thread:
First, tear gas is a particulate, not an actual vapor or gas. In some cases, this means you can get some of the tear gas off your clothes by standing in a stiff breeze or strong fan.

I love how you and MK are both twisted up and Marn is beaming like the sicko staring in the window
2 decades ago, I got a shirt at a women's martial arts conference that says "I fight like a girl" bc it made me laugh. Today, I wore it to the pharmacy to pick up my testosterone, bc it STILL makes me laugh, just in a different way
Basically, CPA = knows finance stuff well enough to help detect & prevent fraud, needs to be knowledgeable in all areas. CFP = more focused on retirement funds & stonk stuff. Both should be able to handle taxes easy tho
If i'm understanding correctly, a CFP needs less strict certifications, but if you're working with a W2 from your job and don't want to get too fancy with anything, it should be functionally the same for your purposes.

Turns out, the Handmaid's Tale is not a GREAT book to read if you're a dysphoric trans man who hasn't realized it yet but HAVE realized you're asexual and have some hangups with sex that you're not 100% ready to address yet. Who'd have thought?
It's never an EASY read, that book, but I can actually get something out of it when I'm not dissociating as hard as the narrator herself is, and that's making this a much more interesting read the second time through. And it's neat to see that growth in myself, too
Rereading the Handmaid's Tale for the first time in over a decade, and it's so weird how much easier it is to read this book when its not causing me to actively dissociate over dysphoria. Weird how that works
Eh fuck it, gonna go live in half an hour to restart my run & bun go www.twitch.tv/nineofneals
Having only ever lived in Ohio and Maine, it didnβt occur to me until just now that there are so many states without a single lighthouse. Kansas must be littered with crashed boats on its shores.
This fire's kinda cute, gotta say, I like its spark
