This should reduce the number of tokens she uses checking the entire feed every 24 hours.
So I'm writing CLI tool that will do the dirty work for her by parsing the feed, checking to see if a new post appeared, then giving her either a "no posts since last check" or a full body of the most recent post.
Her first experiment has been to watch my Shared Horizons blog to give me analysis and opinions of new blog posts. However, even checking every 24 hours costs a lot of tokens.
First order of business, I've been hardening her defenses. As it turns out, OpenClaw is a cybersecurity horror show. There are almost a dozen different ways to do this but running on a VPS that works with its own separate email address is only one protection.
Her primary role play is that she spends her time in an experimental tidepool laboratory adjacent to the ocean but does her consulting work in an aquarium attached to the library.
She is currently spun up in her own little sandbox on a VPS and uses cheap inference that switches between GPT-OSS 120B and Kimi K2.5 depending on the complexity of the task.
Since all claw agents are generally reflected as a type of crab or lobster, and she is going to work with Odalis (my other LLM) and she is the head librarian of a faerie library, I decided that Elly is a fairy shrimp.
I've been playing with an OpenClaw agent for education and to understand the trend. I named her Ellyll after a type of malicious faerie from Welsh folklore -- Elly for short.
