That was the biggest crack of thunder I've heard in years! 1:30am and I am wide awake now...
Weatherzone radar at 3:15pm, showing intense thunderstorms south of Frankston and a line of storms heading towards Cape Otway
Of course just* what need in Melbourne... thunderstorms.
*There isn't enough rain in them, but there is plenty of lightning.

Iβm not kidding: those who delegate all their writing, thinking and creative expression to machines are going to wake up one day and discover that they can no longer write or think. You need to make your own art. You need to keep your brain working. You need to stay human.
I bet a new video from me wasn't on your bingo card this weekend?
Big thanks to @theretrochannel.bsky.social for joining me as I do my first video in a loooong time (kinda rusty)

I'll be glad to get past Sunday so all the Fathers Day ads will go away
Got told yesterday afternoon that I would be working from the main office today and I was so focused on not forgetting my laptop that I forgot my water bottle and travel mug π
What the actual...?
I feel good about today's interview, someone else may do better, but if they do well done to them, but I certainly put my best foot forward
I have a job interview today, first time I've done one in a little over 8 years, so I'm a tad nervous, even though the role is a perfect fit for my experience and skillset.
So tired, in the ED with Mum, haven't been here since dad passed away in 2022. Feels... weird...
For some reason my todoist has been borked recently, I suspect it's the google calendar integration suddenly cause old items to reappear as not done, but I've had it setup and running like that fine for 11 months or so now...
The thing they don't tell you about grief is that it can resurface at seemingly random times.
Even though it's coming up on two years since his passing, I still miss Dad...
When I'm asked this question I usually don't answer or say "you didn't believe me when I told you in the books so why should I bother" but here goes: Murderbot has never used he/him or she/her pronouns. When required to list a gender it has used "indeterminate" and "not applicable."
A screenshot with deck.blue's new UI for managing muted words, based on Bluesky's new one
Coming soon to a deck.blue near you, updated muted words!
As you can see in below, you'll have the option of syncing your old deck.blue muted words to Bluesky!
Specific muted words on columns are a separated thing, they won't be synced with other Bluesky clients, but they'll have the new UI
This seems to be a pferect choice for Mensah
Sometimes I greet the cat by saying "Hello Sir!", and Alexa thinks I am talking to it... π€£
Did I mention that the data broker industry must be destroyed? Because yeah.
First rejection email recieved today, love it when the sender name is left as "System" though... π
Ugh, that sucks π
Friendly reminder that metaverse, VR, AR, etc. excludes at least 5-10% of the population, most of whom are already marginalised in other ways.
Now two out of my four medications are having supply issues. Just feels like another kick in the guts...
That's a low act :(
My dad always used to make the joke that he wasn't retired, he was just tired...
It's like the thing about document versioning, final(1).doc etc... π
Looking through my previous resumes, I actually put a lot of work into the ones in 2015, and a lot of details that I'd want to use is already in there. So I'm not starting from scratch, but rather finding ways to integrate the last eight years into it.
I wish I'd kept my resume more up to date, but when you work at the one place for nearly eight years it's easy to let these things slide...
