The MH-53Es are at the end of their useful life, but because the H-53 airframe is used extensively in US military, the Navy can cannibalize other aircraft for parts.

The LCS ships are crap. The Navy considers them so worthless it's junking them. And they never delivered on the mine countermeasures capability (or much of anything else).

Yesterday, I started to research mine countermeasures capabilities of the US Navy.

Basically, the US Navy is exceedingly ill-prepared for a war where sea mines are a big part of the conflict.

This limitation goes back at least as far as the Reagan administration.

The record for most nominating ballots in a year was 2016, when 4,032 people put in a nominating ballot.

We have two weeks to convince 3,000 more people to nominate so that @laworldcon.bsky.social breaks that record.

Getting progressives to back Robin Kelly was a deft move by the establishment.

1. It showed progressives would accept crumbs. RK has not been particularly progressive.
2. And progressives look weak when RK loses (even though she loses b/c she's a meh candidate).

My experience with Delia Ramirez running for state rep conveyed she was a lightweight. But she's exactly where she's supposed to be in Congress. She's vocal and Left, but not the hyper-visibility that becomes a drawback.

When Danny Davis, Chuy Garcia, and Jan Schakowsky leading the progressives at the federal level, getting a good US Senate candidate was a challenge.

With Delia Ramirez guiding a couple more progressives, things should get better.

My two cents:

Vote for Bryan Maxwell.

Vote for Christopher Swann.
