I know it's meant in good faith but "if we just made smaller scope games and charged 20-40 dollars for them it would fix the industry" is very funny to me. indies release like 20 of those a week on steam. are you buying them? is the industry fixed? no? hm. sounds like you need a different solution

Death Stranding player numbers about to go through the roof
Probably matrix, but you need to selfhost the server (this is a positive longterm tbh)
Discovered Chalk through KEXP last year and loved their set, now they're back and honestly I think these kids are gonna be big www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip5J...
When I teach kids music at work I just go "here's how to play a power chord, and here's how to play a regular 4/4 beat. Congratulations you've mastered 90% of what you need to play most music"
We only got 12 notes to work from in the western system and genres end up just being instructions of how to use those 12 notes. Anytime you get these "X song is plagiarizing Y" it always ends up being "X actually follows genre conventions that 1000 other songs also use"
Damn, that sounds very serious. Maybe if we keep building data centers AI can help us figure out the problem!
The first monitor company that figures out you can name monitors in a more standardized and easily parsed way is gonna revolutionize the market.
What the fuck is a Q27G41ZDF? How does it differ from the Q27G4ZDR? How do you live like this
"Did you see what Mark Cuban posted? Oh did you see the clapbβ"
You shake yourself awake in the cold North Atlantic water. You are not online. It is July of 1858. You are a baleen whale, and you have changed your mind. The future most not come to pass. The telegraph cable must break.
Watching THE GREEN KNIGHT again
sigh
Yeah I'm eyeing the ifixit one, that looks pretty much perfect for my needs
Decided I should probably get a proper soldering pen for my electronics work instead of this ancient functional but clunky soldering iron I have.
Yeah this definitely has sent me down a rabbit hole...
Josh hits it.
Epic pays for licensing fees for the games they give away for free as promotions. Which means even if YOU aren't paying for it, you're giving money to JK Rowling to harm transgender people AND elevating her stature by giving her franchise higher numbers.
NO TERF WIZARD GAME. NO TERF WIZARD SHOW.
Warframe continues being an absolute gem of an experience. Huge props to DE for Old Peace. It feels like their resources are catching up to their ambitions and this felt like easily the most polished bit of story they've put out, can't wait for what's in store
so insanely fucking real for this
Blue Prince (2025)
I'm old.
If you're not, listen to this.
Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.
Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.
It's literally never been more important.
Not too shabby yβall.
Not. Too. Shabby.
Got your coffee, boss. Real sexy just like you asked
"This use of GenAI is fine because VAs signed contracts to relinquish their rights".
Well yeah, have you seen what happens to those who don't want to sign off on this? Can you really call that consent when the alternative is losing (or never getting) a job?
Sometimes I hop on bsky and go "why is my feed so garbage all the sudden?" Before realising I accidentally switched to the discover tab
You don't have to play the latest flavour of the month, free yourself
Embark has done nothing but be intentionally coy around this stuff, trying to conflate machine learning with genAI and so forth. This is highly intentional. They sold their company to investors as "tech forward" but know how controversial genAI is so they try to muddy the waters
ARC raiders are getting really far with this "its only for voice acting" excuse huh? I can almost assure you they didn't just use it for voice acting, read *any* interview with the devs from the past few years and you can quickly figure out they're not only interested in replacing VAs.
I think my disappointment with Arc Raiders and games in that vein is seeing people who otherwise would be staunchly anti-AI generative content looking the other way.
We vote with our dollars about what kind of art and games we support, and so many are just paying lip service.
Honestly it's a great time to be getting into Warframe. If you really want a first person game, can't go wrong with the MachineGames wolfensteins if you haven't played them yet
