I just started the audiobook for @chuckwendig.bsky.social's "Staircase in the Woods," and there's a discussion of this kind of non-supporter supporter and how, in a way, they're worse. Because they never openly claimed it, they were always "just asking questions" and helped the extremism weasel in.
