After looking after Mum in the morning, spent the afternoon around Cley and Salthouse. Rubbish photos but managed to pick up all goodies in the area. The American Wigeon did give me the runaround, but got there in the end.

Plenty of Snipe on show at Amwell this afternoon. First Common Sandpiper of the year there too. Cuckoo, Garden Warbler and Reed Warbler year ticks + Sedge Warbler, one Common Tern and plenty of Sand Martins @hertsbirds.bsky.social
After a bit of patience, the Lesser Whitethroat finally showed itself at Coopers Green Gravel Pits @hertsbirds.bsky.social
Redshank and Oystercatcher also at Wilstone Reservoir early this morning @hertsbirds.bsky.social
Record shots of the Baikal Teal at Wilstone Reservoir early this morning @birdguides.bsky.social @hertsbirds.bsky.social
Ended today @rspbtitchwellsnett.bsky.social The usual variety of waders were there and quite a few Mediterranean Gulls. On the way home, had a male Hen Harrier fly over the A149 at Brancaster
My second attempt at seeing the Shorelark at #holkham this year proved successful at lunchtime today
Went up on the Heath this morning but the Dartford Warblers werenβt playing ball and I only got poor views of one. Maybe it was a bit too cold and windy. Plenty of Stonechat singing @nenbc.bsky.social
Always go @rspbtitchwellsnett.bsky.social albeit quiet today, when visiting Mum in Norfolk & always love a #Pintail. Highlights today were the 7 Lesser White-fronts (a liferπ€) & Glossy Ibis at Stiffkey Floods + Pallid Harrier, Hen Harrier, Merlin & Short-eared Owl at Warham Greens.
#fulmar at Hunstanton today.
Red-crested Pochard at Amwell today @hertsbirds.bsky.social . Poor views of the Red-necked Grebe on Sheepcote. This followed Black-necked Grebe at Troy Lake, West Hyde having travelled early morning for the Richardβs Pipit on Bury Field Common, Newport Pagnell.
Went to the fracture clinic via Bramfield this morning to find half a dozen Hawfinch in the churchyard @hertsbirds.bsky.social . Shoulder has healed so finally I can get out and about. Got a lot of catching up to do.
Hi Daryll. That sounds good. Yes please.
A fractured shoulder means I am immobile and unable to bird. So Iβll finish with a Herts list of 147. Happy enough with that but sad to fall short of 200 in the UK in 2024. Only lifer was the Northern Waterthrush in Essex.
Travelling home from Nottingham and spent just over an hour, late afternoon, at Summer Leys Nature Reserve, Northants. Glossy Ibis showed a little distantly. Plenty of Great White Egret present #northantsbirds .
Finally caught up with the Spotted Redshank @rspb.bsky.social Titchwell today, albeit a bit distant. Also Siberian Stonechat + Woodcock & Goosander. Finished the day at Warham Greens with decent views of the Pallid Harrier #norfolkbirds #norfolkbirding .
Having year ticked the Willen Lake Ferruginous Duck and a Herts Barnacle Goose, do I ignore the Fudge Duck(s) in the Colne Valley #hertsbirds ? @birdguides.bsky.social
