I do think it's accidental tbh. The issues with AoT's ending reads more to me as being a product of incompetent storytelling than it does as having any form of overt malice.

"Act 2 chapters long"
Smiling Friends and Chainsaw Man Part 2 ending in the same month. This is like 9/11 for annoying people (me).
I meant figuratively moving. But literally works too I guess.
Oh! CSM Part 2 ending means we might get more Fujimoto one-shots! That's actually really exciting.
Ow
Huh. Odd.
I don't think that's true honestly. Most people were engaging with the narrative honestly, and haphazardly cutting it down at the ankles out of spite for the ones who didn't is ridiculous. If that was that intention, I genuinely think that's worse than just failing to live up to Part 1.
It's unchanged on my end.
I think that's a completely worthless end goal. There was no one forcing Fujimoto to make a Part 2. But maybe I'm missing something.
The haters said Fujimoto couldnโt do it. And they were correct. Honestly great call from the haters.
Like... as an example, it's honestly embarrassing how worthless Nayuta's fridging was.
There was no emotional weight to it because everyone was convinced that it was a fakeout, and then it didn't even have the long term consequences on the narrative needed to serve a functional purpose.
I don't think CSM P2 needed a main antagonist. I think it needed to have a purpose other than "shit happens and everything sucks I guess." P1 got that point across just fine. P2 doesn't add anything to it. It didn't even need to exist tbh. It could have done something with Asa, but she got sidelined
Oh, I mostly mean in the "announcement that the part is ending when there is pretty much no way of wrapping up everything that needs to be addressed in the allotted time in a satisfying way" regard.
I'll give Fujimoto this. At least he didn't channel his meandering misanthropy into some accidental pro-genocide shit. That seems like a low bar to clear, but Isayama didn't manage to, so... apparently it's not a given.
Everyone wants to be Togashi, but no one wants to move how he moves.
"Trying to improve your life was a mistake and you were better off when you were selling your organs" is certainly... a note to end your story on.
Pochita ate himself bro.
I want to believe that Fujimoto has something planned...
But man... this really feels like he was just sick of doing Chainsaw Man and is just rushing out an underbaked ending to get things over with. It's a shame.
Getting some big JoJolion flashbacks from this.
What do you mean "Chainsaw Man is one chapter away from completion"?
Absolutely kickass. Looks like a poster for a heist thriller flick.
Which... you know... is fitting.
Fucked up looking N

Don't trust them. Fae eyes can see into your soul.

Or... or...
Dark/Ghost Kangaroo based on it that's a convergent species with Kangaskhan.
The fact that this happened a dozen times is WILD.
Imagine a Steel/Ghost type where the torso and the legs snap together like a magnetic buckle.
