For something like this, I’d probably be much more apt to dig the book adaptation. I did my best with it - I’m not a Sci-Fi or a war movie guy and it worked for me on certain levels.

Husband, step dad, amateur film buff, AEW - I also minor in books, comics and music. This account will mostly chronicle my “years project” in film - 30 movies for each year, working backwards. Letterboxd - https://boxd.it/4441

That’s probably my favorite one of all - that or Rear Window.
Good luck getting a surprise! Feel better!
That’s a plus! At least you had those to keep you occupied!

Especially since it sucked ass - I was definitely getting my credit for it!
Our power got knocked out. I was 5 mins away from finishing a movie and then everything went black. I went to bed and then right before I was about to doze off, it came back on so I got up and finished the flick.
Are you sick? I too love laying around and justifying it!
Yeah, I took tunes off yesterday and spent my down time reading my new QT book - but I heard some decent stuff this week. That Silversun album was probably my fav.
Dial M for Murder and Rear Window are my top 2. Beyond that - there are so many more: Vertigo, Psycho, The Birds. Shadow of a Doubt….
I will say, I need to see North by Northwest again, because I’ve seen it a few times and it’s never been my jam.
Yeah, that always helps. I definitely need to see it again.
I completely forgot there was a tv show until you just mentioned it.
I’ll agree, THAT scene was emotional - but by then, the whole movie had lost me. I’m glad you dig it though!
Underrated Lee movie. GREAT one!
I love Big Fish!
I need to go back someday and watch all the Bond films. I’ve actually seen them all up to about the Brosnan era, but it’s been so long ago, I barely remember them or can distinguish them between each other.
Except Goldfinger, which I loved.
Oscar season! Shamefully, I’ve not seen any of the major contenders this year (except Sinners) - but there’s a handful I need to get around to.
I’ve realized recently how much I dig Michael Douglas and I’ve never seen Black Rain and have always wanted to.
You don’t often see positive marks for Waterworld. I’ve personally never seen it, but that’s reassuring to maybe get around to it one day.
Love 12 Monkeys!
Sunrise is great! I also BlackBerry recently and really enjoyed it.
After Hours is really good and Pulp Fiction is typically what I cite as my favorite film, when asked - even though I have hundreds of favorites.
Remembering JOHN CAZALE - who left us 48yrs ago today, aged just 42 - one of the finest Actors of his generation.
He famously appeared in just 5 films (over a 7yr period) all of which were nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.
Yes! That was the other popular one and I couldn’t think of it!
As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to really appreciate beautifully shot films and it can sometimes carry a whole picture for me.
😂🤣
The albums I listened to this week:
Trying to make the most of the BlueSky experience. Commented and liked a lot of #LastFourWatched posts today and tried to get acquainted with some people. I had fun looking at everything, everyone watched and even added a couple to my never ending watchlist. Great chatting with all of you!
Nightcrawler was one of my favorite movies of the 2010s. Sorry you didn’t like it more.
I just saw SLC last month and did not like it very much at all.
However, 4 Months… is a truly great film!
I need to see Licorice again. I remember not thinking too much of it when I saw it, when it was released. Ditto for In the Name of the Father, except I remember really liking that one - but it’s been ages.
