yes they do, if the bottle is ever on its side.
this is better for oils, as it's not rubber.
i also prefer these for tinctures...
rubber tops and oil, maybe use a different top next batch? π

herbal salve
π
althaea salve, dried root or herb, 80+% alcohol.
1 tablespoon to about a pint jar, close lid, leave overnight.
in the morning, make your infused oil as usual, make a salve from that.
i got this from elaine sheff i think? works fabulously.
the darker sets off the other color, fabulous picture!
i decorate a calendar cover every year, for a friend. so meditative π
this week's herb card: carrot.
#herbcard
i use the seed for infertility, w nutrients. works nicely. lr at least, there are babies. π
do you show how it differs from the non-invasive hybrids?
i am pretty baffled w all the rugosas, frankly.
your picture is beyond gorgeous, as is the rose itself. π
the root is great for some kinds of gut upset. tried to substitute the leaf for a client or two, they said it didn't work as well.
for other types of gut upset, the leaf works as well as the root.
i give teas to my clients, mostly. sometimes i also give a tincture, sometimes i also give a salve.

#calendar2025
hi guys,
here's a calendar page for january 2025.
the herb on there is onion, i like it a lot for coughs and congestion and things.
a chopped up onion in a bowl by the bed will clear the airways something fierce.
π€
also, i run a fab distance course on herbs, join me there! π΅οΈπΏπΌ
here's the one i'm doing.

smelly, amirite? except for the blue one.
they are *so cool*! π€
this week's herb: #elecampane, Inula helenium.
Christopher Hedley taught that it's good for elfshot: when elves shoot you w their arrows, all your energy leaks away.
also good to stop dancing w the elf queen.
---
i use it a lot for grief, coughs, gut problems, in teas or (for coughs), as a syrup.
we call it julkΓ€rve "christmas sheaf" maybe?),
and they are put out by hunters where they hunted, the year just gone, as a thank you.
we get one evey year.
traditional persian chamomile oil , post 4/4:
here's a handful of papers on using the oil i just made:
www.researchgate.net/search/publi...
a few drops
- on an achy knee,
- for migraine,
- caesarian scar,
- in the nose
... the uses are varied, and fascinating.
also, researchgate rocks.

traditional persian chamomile oil.
here's the result, after 2 hours of boiling strong chamomile tea thru oil.
i got a little under 500 ml of the oil, and the remains of the tea, rather tar-like.
i'll slop that black gunk on the compost heap ... tomorrow.
the oil is fab. i shall treasure it.
and here i added 500 ml of organic sesame oil.
now it'll boil for 2 hours, making the strong tea bubble through the oil.
i'll check on it every 20-30 minutes, until it's almost done, then i'll watch it like a hawk, the final minutes.
