- Planned actions for 3 current member defense cases โ
- Agreed next steps for the Bailiff Free Britain campaign ๐
- Decided our next doorknocking location and outreach stall ๐
Come along next time: Tuesday 10th March, social from 6pm and meeting at 7pm.

Last week, Mayor Nik Johnson confirmed that bus franchising will go ahead in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
ACORN Cambridge campaigned hard for a year to galvanise the public in support of a bus network run in their interest instead of profits.
And we succeeded big time!!
We had a great day at ARU's housing fair. We handed out all our leaflets, got plenty of petition signatures, had plenty of renter bingo games, and even got some leads for doorknocking and potential member defence cases!

This wouldn't have happened if ACORN Cambridge hadn't gathered signatures for our petition, and responses to the committee's consultation from the Cambridge public.
On Friday, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Transport Committee chose to franchise the area's busses.

Thank you for your coverage of our action against Places for People @eastangliabylines.co.uk.
We are calling on the Government to release the addresses of all buildings with ACM cladding in Cambridgeshire, so that owners feel a stronger obligation to fix their buildings, and prevent another Grenfell before it's too late.
Please sign it and share far and wide!

Although the cancellation is a tremendous shame, we commend the Mill Road Winter Fair Committee and Planning Group's commitment to ensuring the safety of the community.

Over the past three months, ACORN Cambridge has gathered over 70 responses to the CPCA's 126 page bus franchising consultation document.
We hope our work will help convince Mayor Nik Johnson to franchise our busses on January 22nd 2025.
Public transport should serve our needs, not private profits.
