I was complaining to a fellow school bus driver today about my kids and she reminded me that, “At least they don’t smoke fentanyl on your bus.”
(Yes I had some fentanyl smokers on my trimet bus. That sucked.)

Spoken like a true 12 year old
I gave my middle schoolers Takis today. In violation of some rule I’m sure. But then I had them sweep the bus, so that’s a fair trade.
Did I tell you I’m working as a school bus driver these days? I love my kids. They also drive me crazy.
I am truly honored to be the MC for this weekend's annual Walkstars dinner and party to benefit Oregon Walks. Let's take a walk together around the waterfront, enjoy drinks and dinner at OMSI's restaurant, then you can throw rotten tomatoes at me.

Decongestion pricing is quantitatively the best.
What % of houses in D2 have semi-permanent, non-seasonal string lights outside?
How many also have Little Free Libraries?
But but but, you aren’t planning a re-election campaign later this year.
This might be unpopular among my followers but so much of the Western USA doesn’t have much going on except range cattle, and I’m cool with it.
It used to be a drug store IIRC.
Oh yeah that one was the super soft one. I have one in grey too.
One time in NYC, I saw one of my sweatshirts and told the wearer “Nice hoodie! I’m Nat.” To which they were incredulous and after a brief conversation I’m pretty sure they concluded I was a liar.
Haha which one? The death metal council one, the double weight cider one, the tent show lightweight one, the thumb hole cider one? (I’m a hoodie fan.)
There's 15 restaurants in the same shopping center. Ugh
The Oregonian is reporting that Mayor Wilson had a meeting at The Olive Garden, along with three Councilors and a State Rep. How did 5 elected officials all think it was cool to spend money at a global restaurant chain, headquartered in Florida?

TBH I’m a little surprised that it took this long.
Sounds good to me! Except it’ll be sold by the quart!
😳
No I’m sorry that will take 20 years.
Sounds like you should open a bagel shop specializing in the heat
Bigger!
You forgot about BEER!
All cities are known for a thing by outsiders. It's what draws people to visit, move, invest in. What will Portland be known for 10 years from now? Actions we take now will define us for a generation.
Shout out to the walking boss @lauragmitchell.com for inclusion in the story.
If you build it, they will walk:
-92% of US households own a car. 7% live in highly walkable neighborhoods.
-Each 1% increase in walkability score leads to 0.5% increase in people actually walking.

Cool but even less cars ok
I would posit that "it working" relies on adequate transit, bike options and political will.
The lifelong marketer in me is on a mission to get elected officials and transpo advocates to stop calling is "congestion pricing" and start calling it "decongestion pricing."
Wouldn't it have been cool if "A Better Red" included A Thousand Housing Units?
