I mean tbf I don't think Maria's arc was meant to be completed this season.
Most of her violent impulses were directed specifically at her father so after the catharsis of killing him I think it makes sense for her to calm down a bit and more or less go back to normal temporarily+

This part is great because on the surface it looks like just a cool moment of Sonic going all-out like a shonen protagonist, but it's actually framed more like a reversal of his usual interactions with Eggman.
