He literally contradicts his own central arguments with historical facts that HE CHOSE to cite. It’s illustrative of the mental gymnastics these bozos have to perform on a daily basis just to maintain a sense of self.

I read a “history” of abortion by an antiabortionist & all I can say is if a 1st year graduate student can spot the ahistorical, revisionist bullshit, this guy must’ve been the laughing stock of his peers. No wonder there isn’t a single review of his work in academic journals.

A Third Woman Died Under Texas’ Abortion Ban. Doctors Are Avoiding D&Cs and Reaching for Riskier Miscarriage Treatments. Thirty-five-year-old Porsha Ngumezi’s case raises questions about how abortion bans are pressuring doctors to avoid standard care even in straightforward miscarriages.

This is absolutely horrific. Porsha’s experience reads almost exactly like an early to mid twentieth century account of a botched illegal abortion. It was these atrocities that lead to the legalization of abortion in the first place. As a society, we should be afraid and more than that, outraged.

Okay, I told myself I was going to keep this account history-focused, but alas, I am a mere fool of a woman who yearns for a shred of validation 🌝 🖤

Oh wow, this gave me such a pang of nostalgia! Not for the 1950s, but for Edinburgh. It’s such a beautiful city.

Prediction: there will be another rubella epidemic increasing the risk of congenital disabilities and the right will walk back their anti-abortion stance because their lack of tolerance for differently-abled & disabled people rivals their hatred of women.
