How can we mitigate risks to fisherman in the industry? How about we ask the fisherman! As your next governor, I will priorize input from people in the industry and listen to what they need to succeed.

Secretary Bellows with AIO food pantry Executive Director Alan Kearl and Board Chair Ted Long
Yesterday I volunteered at AIO in Rockland, a remarkable program with a food pantry and every assistance serving hundreds of Mainers each week. Great to meet with the team of amazing staff and volunteers who really making a difference every day for our neighbors.
It was so great to stop by and cheer on Rocklandβs democracy defenders today at noon. Theyβve been gathering every Saturday for over a year!
Growing up in Hancock County, I learned firsthand how important Maineβs fishing industry is to our economy. Proud to share my ideas for supporting the Maine fishing industry and the marine economy at the Fishermanβs Forum.
Why vote for Shenna? Linda tells us that courage and work ethic matter very much to her, which is why she is excited to support Shenna for Maineβs next governor. You can read more about Shennaβs work at bellowsformaine.com
Frances Perkins, workers-rights advocate who served as the 4th United States Sec'y of Labor from 1933 to 1945, has strong Maine connections.
Her family's homestead in Newcastle, which she considered her true home, was recently designated as the Frances Perkins National Monument.
The real deal.
Itβs time for a bold, new, progressive economic plan for Maine. Iβm so excited to be announcing my New Deal Plan. You can read more about it on my website at bellowsformaine.com/policy
Our campaign had the best time this weekend across the state! This afternoon I finished in Lewiston, Brunswick and Augusta, but we had volunteers in every county including Franklin, Hancock and Lincoln! More photos to come but for now- sleep!
A great morning in Saco, Biddeford, and Bowdoinham with the @mainedems.bsky.social
The snow canβt keep us away from being together to talk about whatβs at stake!

Thanks to the @mainedems.bsky.social for a great first day of caucuses! Maine is fired up to keep our state moving forward! When we fight, we win.
The Trump Administration may want to nationalize voting. We wonβt let them.
This is important. Secretaries across the political spectrum are united in defense of the Constitution.
βWeβll see him in courtβ
As Trump moves to rewrite election rules, state officials warn of federal pressure ahead of the midterms. Maine Secretary of State @shennabellows.bsky.social joins The Weeknight to lay out how she and other secretaries of state plan to fight back.
π³οΈπ¨ In the face of Trumpβs ongoing threats to our democracy, Democratic Secretaries of State Steve Simon, @vtsecretaryofstate.bsky.social, @shennabellows.bsky.social, and @tobiasread.bsky.social are coordinating legal and operational plans to defend elections and protect voters in 2026 - and beyond.
It was so great to be on MS NOW tonight to talk about protecting our democracy. If the president tries to take control of elections, I will see him in court.
Let us be clear: there was no foreign intervention in the 2020 election, as many courts have found, many many times. I will do everything in my power to push back against this executive order and if he goes through with this, I look forward to seeing him in court.
Todayβs reporting is not surprising; itβs what I and others have long warned could be coming. Trump is like the bad boyfriend who canβt get over a breakupβ and heβs willing to burn down our constitution and 250 years of democratic rule.
I had such a wonderful time attending the Maine Peopleβs Alliance Oxford County community meeting. It was wonderful to meet so many passionate Mainers committed to our democracy and fighting fascism. Remember, when we organize, we win.
Itβs important for both the safety of law enforcement and the safety of Mainers that people know who are there lawfully to keep us safe and who are not.
Our state and local law enforcement agencies rely on varying written standards about how and when officers need to identify themselves. This common-sense proposal would create one statewide standard for all law enforcement officers operating in Maine including federal law enforcement.
The recent horrific actions by ICE and other federal agents across the country have made clear that new legal requirements are needed to protect Mainers from federal overreach.
Today, I announced that as Governor, I will introduce a bill that would require all law enforcement operating in Maine to have clearly identifiable badges, require a badge number to be visible, and to show their faces without masks, except in extreme circumstances.
Congratulations to Rep. Elect Scott Harriman for winning todayβs special election in Lewiston.

No one is above the law -- not ICE and not Donald Trump. I'm proud of the bravery Mainers are showing in resistance. I will always stand with them and I am glad to see they are taking action to hold this lawless administation accountable.
Youβll never have to wonder where Iβll stand or what Iβll do. When the federal government comes for our rights or comes for our elections, Iβll stand strong and protect our state.
I'm deeply proud of our ACLU-New Hampshire neighbors who are helping lead the resistance against ICE's disgusting attempt to hold people in a commercial warehouse. New England stands together in fighting back against Trump's cruelty and lawlessness.

and they wonβt be happy about the SAVE Act, especially when they find out it makes it particularly difficult for older married women to vote.
In case our Senator Susan Collins missed Maineβs election results back in November, hereβs a handy link. Maine voters donβt support restrictions on voting, www.maine.gov/sos/election...
Proud to earn the βBadass Award.β This is the time for all of us to use our power.
