I think the coolest thing is my body adapting to the negative degree weather. It was a windchill of -60 the other day!

I also saw an arctic fox too for a brief moment!!

Sorry that I’ve been MIA for a long time now. I’m now working in the artic in Alaska- doing a lot of physical work for a big project out here!

The free housing, food, and learning experiences here have allowed me to sort of rebuild myself- to finally get ahead financially, mentally, and physically.

I'm really hoping you print these story illustrations out at some point. I enjoy getting an idea of where the story is going before reading the text of your posts- all due to how well executed the visual storytelling is here

Now that we’re settled into our work cabins, I can’t wait to learn and grow from both the community and environments here. It’s been so lovely even this early on. :) I’ll be posting every so often while working here! I’m sure I’ll be seeing a lot more of Alaska over the summer too!

One of our final stops before Alaska was visiting the MacBride Museum of Yukon History! Please do go check it out if you’re ever in that area

We spotted many animals along the way too! Some almost became a burger by getting into close contact with my vehicle while driving at night 🍔

I’m just glad neither us or the animals were harmed

THIS IS A REAL THING THAT HAPPENED BTW
There was this one moment where a sudden, light snow storm hit us when the “Bonus Stage” music played, and when the song was over, the snow storm was too. We couldn’t stop laughing at that as it felt like an outside force did that on purpose I swear 😭

We listened to Donkey Kong Country music on our long drives through these vast environments and it really elevated the experience…Unforgettable

At one of our stops, we made it to this cabin that has been around for over 50 years now that served some of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten. Such a comfy place too

I still will never forget how it felt so otherworldly arriving to an environment like this for the first time

My service was so bad along the way so I couldn’t document it live 😭 But WE MADE IT TO ALASKA A FEW DAYS AGO. I’ll be making this a thread to show our sights along the journey
