就算是欧洲非英语国家，估计好多人都不了解这些背景知识。我就想知道你美ETS到底在干嘛？
雅思也有类似的欧洲中心主义问题，但我还没遇到过这么极端的例子。雅思学术类给我的感觉像在Nature 一类综合学术期刊上读非本人专业论文，不是你的领域但是大道理能明白。

说实在的，TOEFL作为一个语言考试考社会学、人类学专业浓度如此之高的内容，实属不合理。
语言是知识的载体，语言和阅读考试考的其实主要是知识。所以无论是学童学习读写母语还是二语习得，都讲究knowledge matters。这么考只有在白人主体民族的国家里有过人文社科或活动家的背景才能听懂，其余的考生都得倒戈，包括所有未成年者，还有那些从高中就走STEM路线的人（如墙内理科生）。

英国自从新冠以来就业市场一直低迷，连英国人都在持续被layoff，移民就更别想找工作了。我还记得当时在英国刷领英的timeline，一片哀鸿遍野。
我本来是留学一年，学的人文社科相关专业，毕业后申请的graduate visa，有效的两年间可以在英国找任意工作。但是实在是找不到，待到只剩4个月时回墙内，纯粹是为了等NHS的睡眠诊所那边的诊断结果。后来有其他国家的毕业生提到，企业使用的简历自动筛选系统会筛掉明显的少数族裔姓氏。

其实说到底我还是那句老话：被英国拒绝后，我其实已经失去了对西方的大部分信心。明明语言关对于我来说不存在，却还是如此结局。而且看除美国之外的英语国家（美国被踢出去是因为其他生活方式上的原因，比川普第一任期还早），对于我来说可行的移民路线也不存在，除非形婚。而我偏偏是aroace。
所以润日之后又想二润的，到底是什么心理，我很不明白。有的人还是知点足吧😓

Yep. I want to cry out WTF for numerous times when I read this article. It's filled with nonsense that anyone with even basic gender studies stuff can find it ridiculous.

Well, based on my experience with them as a passenger (not a driver 🤷🏻), they have a long way to go to get acceptance from Canadians. If they don't follow the rules, it will be the motorcycle situation in Southeastern Asia in the 2000s again.

原书我没看过所以不知道作者提没提这点。如果作者是美国人，大概率没提。
美国之外，包括你国，处方药广告不是不能做，但是必须面向医药工作者。例如学术杂志的广告区、各种协会开会时发给医生的文具什么的。不可以在电视、广播、互联网上传播。你国医院会有药代上诊室推销也是因为这个。从这点上来说，美国比老中还没底线……

关于此处处方药广告的问题：
很多不了解美国的朋友可能无法理解，为什么镇静剂这样的典型处方药会有如此离谱的广告？尤其图四里面向儿童的例子，显然这样的广告不是给儿科医生设计的，而是冲着患者来的。
这就不得不提你美药品相关法规里极其逆天的一项规定，那就是：处方药广告可以向一般公众传播😱
有时候梯子如果用的美国IP，会见到处方药弹窗广告。当然你用了ad blocker 就看不到了。
此行为在其他发达国家一律非法，美国是唯一例外。

这个时候还在谈回国或二润，恐怕算一种特权吧，除非移民流程在日本就已经fail to launch。二润了还得把移民流程重新走一遍，时间成本不说，也省不了多少钱。当然如果这帮人护照已经不是你国的了，那算我啥也没说。😓

估计zero waste 这回要成为主流了……😓

The US has been notorious for taking away children from disadvantaged families for some years, but it only gets its mask off on general human rights recently. So I never trust authorities for protecting children.

Damnit, this one reminds me a lot of examples in fields I'm closer to...Hayao Miyazaki is known to be horrible to work with, and his buddy Isao Takahata was said to be a worse bully. Among younger directors, Satoshi Kon was not ashamed to write his own verbal abuse towards colleagues into the script

I'd reserve my ideas to that one because a totally paralyzed person with extremely limited communication capabilities even with most advanced AAC then is very unlikely to commit misconduct for very obvious reasons. But it will also mean we'll never know about his thoughts 🤷🏻

至于他这么干不怕被人发现么？很有可能日本这边看他是世界级科学家，故意睁一只眼闭一只眼。
发现食欲素应该算诺贝尔生理或医学奖级别的贡献了，现在之所以没人获奖，只怕是因为诺贝尔奖已经是终身成就奖了，而当事者全都不够老。如果未来有人因此获奖，而此时日本的国籍法律仍然不承认多重国籍，那么估计又得来一波争议，而且要比中村那次大得多。

按照外国学者在日本获得签证、永居资格和获得日本政府拨款的难度，非常怀疑他到底是不是以美国公民身份办到这一切的。很可能钻了现行日本国籍法的漏洞，是个事实上的双国籍者。具体用的什么方法，我猜可能涉及在申请美国国籍时更新日本护照，办成美国国籍后火速回国，这样日本这边就不会以日本护照过期为由拒绝承认他的日本国籍，避免类似后来中村修二的遭遇。

但相对于美国的实验室而言，IIIS更倾向于睡眠科学整体，而不是以发作性睡病和相关罕见睡眠障碍为中心延伸的神经科学。后者典型的例子就是斯坦福的Mignot Lab。对于我们患者来说，柳泽这人的功劳肯定比不了Emmanuel Mignot（此人法国籍）。
而且我一直感觉柳泽这个人很鸡贼，不是学术上的，而是他的国籍。按理说，由于柳泽在当年在得克萨斯州大学任研究员期间加入了美国国籍，按照日本国籍法不承认多重国籍的原则，他应该是美国公民。然而他却在2012年回到日本搞了IIIS，等于是把整个实验室都搬回母国了。
