Ooooh that’s good information even if it’s confusing lol.

I work in a surgical unit (truly a med/surg unit) and often have to wait until the surgeon says when enteral route is okay for our bowel surgeries. I was hoping we could consider doing the AAT to help speed up enteral meds/feedings.

Albumin Replacement Therapy in Septic Shock This randomized clinical trial of patients with septic shock assesses whether albumin reduces 90-day mortality.

Stop trying to make albumin happen, it’s NOT going to happen!

β€œβ€¦albumin administration was safe but did not improve 90-day survival in patients with septic shock…”

Thanks, that’s all I can guess - they just wanted more clarity? But I’m also reading between the lines like if there was anything else warranting an updated statement.

Further, the US & Canada 2023 Consensus Statement on the Management of Acetaminophen Poisoning included stopping criteria which was very similar with some differences (added the "clinically well" criterium and didn't mention certain labs).

Can anyone clarify on these criteria?

The American College of Medical Toxicology updated their Practice Statement on Duration of IV Acetylcysteine Therapy following Acetaminophen Overdose.

Can anyone tell me why this was necessary? See below for the 2016 (left) and 2026 (right) statements.
