Lovely! The carbon fibre looks great too
Soooo, Iβve been sent this beautiful telescope to test out (when the skies finally clear!)
Initial impressions - build quality is wonderful and the factory fitted options are so good!

Nice article about comet C/2025 F2 (SWAN) - A new comet discovered in spacecraft images is bright enough to make you get out of bed before dawn. #Astronomy #Astrophotography skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-ne...

Iβm so thankful it stayed clear, it was such a wonderful morning π₯³βΊοΈ

Todayβs partial solar eclipse! Woohooo!!
So glad I managed to capture this, I cannot tell you how anxious I was checking the forecasts and radars for the last two weeks π

Nice work Bernd! Iβm currently, casually, photographing this π
Just in time for the clouds and rain! π
Great night out doing astronomy last night π€©β¨π seeing the planets lined up in an arc was lovely!
I did some deep sky imaging capturing galaxies, dark nebulae & did a live stream of Jupiter & Mars π

A red-white striped parachute seen from below against a reddish-grayish sky.
The perseverance heatshield falling away towards the surface of Mars. The inside is black and has serveral orange cables running across. around the perimeter are eight spiral springs that helped to push the heatshield away.
The Perseverance rover as seen from the skycrane above, dangling from three ropes and a cable umbilical. The Red Mars dust from the surface is getting blown away where the plume from the skycrane hits the the martian surface. The rover deck is still remarkably clean as compared to later in the mission.
The skycrane from below, partially obscured by Mars dust and small rocks it flies away. Each of the four corners has a pair of thrusters and the umbilical cable that has just been cut is curled up below the skycrane.
I can't believe it has already been 4 years since the Perseverance rover landed on Mars! #planetsci
The rover was equipped with six engineering camera that captured more than 26.000 images during the landing!

Faint integrated flux nebula see around Polaris, the North Star β¨
This dusty region is lit up by our own Milky Way galaxy. The integrated flux of all the stars is enough to light up this faint dust

How to polar align during the DAYTIME!
New video going live tomorrow (11th) 6:45PM GMT.
This won't just be about polar alignment, but I also capture 3 photos!

An image showing the moon on the left in mineral colours, the sun in white light with an orange hue with dark sunspots on the surface. Between them is a large dark gap with 6 of the solar system planets in a vertical layout. From the top is Venus at a partial phase. It looks similar to a 40% moon in the sky. Below is Neptune, a faint small blue dot. Below is Mars showing a white polar cap and large orange-red regions broken up by darker thin regions. Below is Neptune, teal coloured orb much smaller than Mars, but bigger than Neptune. Below is Saturn with is glorious rings, tilted at an angle of around 35 degrees. It has orange, green and grey bands across its main surface. Below is Jupiter with its two big dark brown-orange bands wrapping around it, with numerous other waves bands between, above and below. In the northern pole of Jupiter has a brownish region cover it.
Our solar system! π€©ππͺ (minus Mercury)
I captured all these photos across the last 12 months. Iβm so pleased considering how new I am to planetary imaging β¨π

Mars at opposition, January 16th 2025.
Mars is much smaller than it was in 2018/2020, but I was still able to resolve clouds and detail on the Martian surface ππ

Mars rotation.
Mars has a day length almost the same as the Earth, at about 23.5 hrs.
I made this video from nearly 100 separate images, taken over a period of over 4 hrs. I've speeded it up to show the rotation, and plays at about 3660x real-time speed.

A boatload of reddish-brown molecular space dust floating against a backdrop of deep space. Some shapes look a bit like an eel or other sea creatures. One looks a bit like a bat. All of it is really quite cool. Trust me.
WARNING: Could induce an allergic reaction.
Welcome to Taurus, where there happens to be tons of molecular dust. Thirty-six hours of cumulative exposure time over several nights. Taken with my Takahashi Bananaβ’ telescope in a remote observatory with very dark skies. #astrophotography #photography
Now onto a target I've wanted to capture for quite a long time!
The Tadpoles Nebula is really cool and with my telescope setup, I can get up close and personal with it.
