The one I saw on eBay today is also like that, though the frame is completely Western in style.
Unlike other paintings, the turtle ship is always a welcome sight.

In Korea, Samgakji was a representative hub for this type of painting.
In the West, such paintings and decorative art were popular in the 1950s and 60s, hence the term 'Mid-century' style.
Occasionally, among the turtle ship paintings that appear on eBay, there are examples of this style.

I had always thought they were just barbershop paintings, but that wasn't the case.
