Oh... And now all eyesπππ on Poland. May EU win there as well!
Romania has a new president. Pro-EU, anti Russia, an intellectual with several medals in mathematics (International Olympics), against corruption. πͺπΊπͺπΊπͺπΊπͺπΊπͺπΊ
The other pro-Russian and pro-MAGA candidate was very, very close.
We must stay vigilant and protect democracy πͺπΊ
He chose the name Leo XIV in homage to Pope Leo XIII, known for his advocacy of workers' rights and social justice. π
Many believe he will be as progressive as Francis, let's hope the church will support science in favor of bigotry, even in things like cloningβͺ
Habemus papa! Pope Leo XIV: he is the first American and the first member of the Augustinian Order to become pope, marking a historic moment for the Catholic Church. πππ
Born: September 14, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois.π
Spent over two decades in Peru, serving as a missionary and seminary professor.
If anyone is looking at the situation in Romania: it seems we are likely to have an anti-EU, pro MAGA, pro Russia president... In the words of a fated Malaysian flight: Goodnight π’

And thus far right, pro Russia wins.
Let's see in round two
Final results.
A little disinformation managed to achieve in a very short amount of time.
So today people will decide if Romania goes towards EU, democracy and a common future or towards Russia and a more nationalist political way.
Before democracy Romania was one of the Russia's communist states allies starting after the second world war.
Communism was a time of no freedom of speech, rationalization of food and goods (including heat and electricity) hence people welcomed democracy with open arms.
It is hard to believe what
That Calin was against the current political parties and was a 'change'.
This preyed on the dissatisfaction of the people with the current parties which have been prone to corruption and under achieving all they had promised in campaigns.
Democracy in Romania is young, only 35 years old.
Calin Georgescu was pro Russian and the Romanian Secret Services published documents were it wad clear his campaign was funded by Russia at least partly.
The modus operandi waa very similar to what Russia did in Ukraine, our neighbors and they managed to divide Romanians like never before showcasing
Usually I don't write about politics but today there are elections in Romania.
I hope sincerely we can veer towards Europe and democracy and not fall to extremism.
Unfortunately just 6 months ago Romania was terribly close to becoming a dictatorship with voting Calin Georgescu.

πIn a previous study, in 2018, cardiologists found that the first 20 runners to run a mile in under 4 minutes lived, on average, 12 years beyond general life expectancy.
πAnother study indicates that even 75 minutes of jogging per week can reduce biological age by up to 12 years
πThese study looked at 200 athletes who competed at an Olympic or national level. They were able to run a mile in under 4 minutes.
πThere are several other studies pointing out that active individuals live longer but some scientists suggested very intense training can be a health risk
Did you know that runners live longer?
πA study of over 1,200 elite Finnish runners found they lived an average of nearly 5 years longer, even when accounting for factors like lifestyle and education.
πThe longevity benefit is believed to stem from consistent endurance training.

Currently the FDA has approved several new treatments for drugs that reduce levels of amyloid beta, another protein implicated in Alzheimer's, unfortunately they have only a modest effect on the progression of the disease - so an effective vaccine would be a real game changer ππ«
