๐ฑ๐ป Latvia
Trade unions in Latvia are opposing proposed amendments to the Labour Law that would reduce overtime and public holiday pay and weaken protections for union members.
Unions warn that removing this protection would make union representatives and active members more vulnerable to dismissal.
๐ธ๐ฎ Slovenia
The statutory minimum wage in Slovenia increased in 2026 to approximately โฌ1,482 gross per month, equivalent to around โฌ1,000 net for a single worker.
The increase of about 16% compared to 2025 follows the annual adjustment mechanism that takes into account living costs.
๐ญ๐ท Croatia
Negotiations between the Croatian government and public service unions on 2026 pay ended without agreement.
Unions rejected the government's proposal of 1% base pay increase three times in a year.
Public service unions are consulting on possible further trade union action.
๐ง๐ฆ Bosnia
A new collective agreement in Republika Srpska covers over 10,000 local government workers across 64 municipalities.
The agreement creates a unified framework for pay, allowances and working conditions; reduces disparities and strengthens social dialogue in local public services.
๐ฒ๐ฉ Moldova
From 1 January 2026, Moldova will increase its statutory minimum wage by 15%.
National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (CNSM) stresses it remains below adequate benchmarks & calls for a clear mechanism to ensure a decent minimum wage.
๐ฒ๐ช Montenegro
A new sectoral collective agreement for healthcare workers was signed on 30 December 2025, covering nearly 6,000 public health staff.
The deal brings pay rises of 15% for mid-level medical staff, 10% for highly qualified nurses and technicians, and a 5% bonus for managerial roles.
๐ท๐ธ Serbia
Unions have given the government a 15-day deadline to restart meaningful social dialogue.
Unions are demanding wage increases, a halt to job cuts, and revival of collective bargaining.
Without progress, SSSS warns it will take all legit trade union actions to defend workersโ rights.
๐ท๐ด Romania
Thousands of workers took to the streets of Bucharest in December 2025.
The 4 confederations protested together the deterioration of living & working conditions, erosion of real wages, and lack of social dialogue.
Health & social care workers, mobilised by SANITAS, also joined the demo.
