I'm not into any of this and have no idea why got this on my feed but if you told me this was some ancient japan-only PS2 game by Treasure or some obscure experimental developer I would 100% believe it
Pretty much nowhere. This change is global to all social media. Discord, Twitter, even Bluesky, they all have to follow the online safety act.
We need the people passing those acts to wake up to the damage they are doing.
I'm going to be extremely real here.
Out of all services being forced into taking age verification, Discord may be the one who needs it the most.
But this system is not the way to do it. Everyone's pointed out its flaws already, and how dangerous it actually is for the user.
Shout-out to them doing this and making people actually check out games that nobody cared about because in no other way would you ever decide to play any of those games. All people would care about purchasing would be the popular ones.
They're doing this to comply with the expanding online safety act. They are legally required to do this if they wish to operate in the countries that support the act. Same for every social media ever.
Nova would take the cake if it played Kirby's Triumphant Return at the end of the track...
