Meanwhile Illumination Mario is what's big an in right now so it's a present threat that illustrates the flaws of animated kids movies today and thus it immediately invites scrutiny. You have to treat it like it's something that influences what Mario is!
The 90's Mario movie can't hurt you. You know it can't hurt you. It's a failure and everyone ignores it. So YOU being savvy media guy gets to look at it from the perspective of this weird thing that happened and can laugh about.
The illumination movie is a FLAWED movie don't get me wrong but people saying the 90's movie is better are able to judge it from the perspective of it being a weird novelty and not WHAT EVERY KIDS PROPERTY WAS BEING BASTARDIZED INTO.
The 90's Mario movie is noteworthy for some cool practical effects and set design and THAT IS IT.
It is otherwise an incredibly mediocre and chaotic action/adventure kids film that has no clue what it's doing.

Regarding Last Repost: One time at my work (I work at a photolab) we put signs on our kiosks cause they weren't working. Big laminated signs that read "Photolab is closed sorry for any inconvenience".
