Who would have thought a real estate tycoon turned president would do such a thing!

If drivers can't bring their vehicle to a complete stop at or before the line at a stop sign/signal, then they shouldn't have a license.

A reminder that humans in cars - notably omitted from this thanks to motonormativity - kill 1.2m people every year

Sometimes I wonder if we’d get more small houses if we framed the effort as supporting older couples who want to sell the big houses they don’t need anymore. It’s clear that framing it around allowing anyone under the age of 45 to afford a house is a non-starter.

I would definitely be interested in this. I don't think I would be an early adopter, but I would but one once it's shown to function okay in the US and be secure.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.

Let's outlaw scheduling meetings without first. I don't care what my university account calendar says, it's not a reflection of my availability, and even if it was, that doesn't give you the right to commit me to anything without my consent, kthxbye.

The 3 bike lock keys I carry daily (for 3 different bike locks, including my kids bike lock) take up as much volume as 9 standard door keys. Why?!

27.02.2026 04:32 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

random question for the bike commuters: why do bike lock companies need to make their keys so oddly shaped so the keys will not sit flat like other keys? I realize disc retainer locks need thicker metal, but it's the plastic bits connecting to the keychain that mess everything up.

One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss Copenhagen, the bicycle-friendliest place on the planet, publishes a biannual Bicycle Account, and buried in its pages is a rather astonishing fact.

β€œOne mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss.”

β€œWhich means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million a year on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.” #CityMakingMath

Some costs aren’t costs.
