My simple beliefs: Women are amazing. They should be respected and listened to. Bikes, trains and buses are smart transportation. I can take a nice photo of an amazing scene, but I am trying to learn how to make an amazing image of an average scene.

NASA map shows temperatures up to 160 degrees on Phoenix streets, sidewalks Data from June 19, when the daily high was 106 degrees, shows asphalt across the city that day was between 120 and 160 degrees.

IMPORTANT: NASA map shows temperatures of up to 160 degrees on Phoenix streets & sidewalks. All that unrelenting concrete and asphalt for cars. Not nearly enough trees. They start with ridiculous heat that’s only getting worse with the #ClimateCrisis, & then make it much worse with bad design.

Street transformed as a people-place

Street transformed as a people-place

This Vienna street isn’t β€œclosed” because cars have been removed. It’s been opened to everything else, to a diverse and invigorated civic life for people, because cars have been replaced by a multitude of wonderful things.

Language matters.

HT @dmoser.bsky.social for the pic. #OpenStreets

How Vancouver Is Rebooting Road Safety | The Tyee Councillors are pushing for a new approach after the city failed to get to zero deaths and injuries. A Tyee explainer.

Heard from a colleague spending a few months in the Netherlands.

"Went on a 35-mile bike ride today, entirely on bike paths, through all kinds of landscapes. Turns out I love biking, I'm just scared of biking with cars."

If you think electric bikes are bad, there’s a much bigger menace hitting our roads Electric bikes are a menace. They go almost as fast as a car (if the car is parking), they’re whisper...

β€œOver 40k people die in car crashes in the US every year. Entire neighborhoods are carved up by high-speed traffic. Kids can’t walk to school safely. But don’t worry – someone saw a teenager run a stop sign on an e-bike, so the real crisis must be those darn batteries on two wheels.”

As a Canadian, I cannot comprehend what healthcare has to do with profits. The Police, Firefighters, Armed Forces (and more) don't make a profit and everyone understands that. These are just things that society needs to have to take care of people.

Wow! France gifted her to us, and now they’ve captured what so many Americans are feeling on Independence Day. The values the Statue of Liberty stood for are no more.

πŸ“Œ A stunning mural of the Statue of Liberty covering her face was unveiled in Roubaix, France, on July 3, 2025.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

Bikeway construction on The Esplanade draws community controversy | CBC News Some downtown residents say they are opposed to a bikeway on The Esplanade but the city of Toronto says more than half of respondents it consulted four years ago said they supported the project.

"Bike lanes restrict road space. Bike lanes have turned streets into parking lots, with residents unable to shop, get kids to events, and seriously impact emergency services & Wheel-Trans."

Actually, no. 100% wrong. Car dependency & too much driving with increasingly large vehicles does all that.

CHARLIE ANGUS ON TRUMP'S MAGA AMBASSADOR TO CANADA YouTube video by Charlie Angus

The USA needs to clean up their own house and stop trying to bully Canada or try to tell Canada that they didn't "really mean it" and we should be friends again. We are moving on from the abusive relationship. Charlie Angus says it very well.

You shouldn’t need a car to age with dignity.

With walkable streets and thoughtful density, people can age in place, staying mobile, social, and part of the community they love.

Graphic showing how much less space is needed to move more people on transit.

Graphic showing how much less space is needed to move more people on transit.

To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars.

Even if those cars are electric.

And then there’s all the parking.

OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money and pollution.

My friend actually needs a big truck....I borrowed it to take some large items to our daughter's house 5 hours away. We stopped for a coffee along the way and I almost panicked when I saw there were people walking across the parking lot and I wasn't completely able to see them.

It really isn't that hard to look at existing issues and then go see what has been successful in other parts of the world (I am not JUST talking about transportation and traffic deaths)
