We were in Dresden in β18, during this week - we attended a performance of Bachβs St John Passion in the Frauenkirche by the Dresdner Statskapelle. It was very emotional especially since my husband, b 1939, remembered vividly bombing raids over Amsterdam during WWII.
Heβs gone now. I miss him so.
Yes! My brother in law, a high school teacher, was in Japan accompanying a gr 11 school trip. They were in Tokyo in a bus, when it stopped because the ground was moving. They got home (Canada) 3 days later.
And he threatened the folks of East Dalhousie, who oppose Uranium exploration, with withholding βnice thingsβ because they werenβt prepared to βgive their shareβ or words to that effect.
Heβs a pea-brained bean counter. Zero vision, zero understanding of how society functions
His mom moved heaven and earth to find him, Sasha's photos and this story was all over social media. She hoped despite everything to find Sasha alive.
Finally, Sasha's body was found.
The worst part is that Russia killed so many Ukrainian children after that and continues doing so.
So they were trying to escape by boat together with their neighbors. Boats with civilians were attacked by Russian troops.
The boat where Sasha and his grandma were turned over after a Russian strike. Grandma drowned, Sasha was missing (he was wearing an inflated vest).
This is a story from 2022, the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion. I remember it well.
The boy is the picture is Sasha, forever 4yrs old.He was killed by Russia on March 10,2022.Sasha was staying with grandma when Russia invaded. They couldn't evacuate by land‡οΈ
Brilliant!
But so sad
And Uranium.
And as for gas: fracking.
Heβs been listening to Sean Kirby, the sole employee of the Mining Association of Nova Scotia (MANS), who is not a geologist, nor an economist. Sean has a communications diploma and is otherwise unemployable. MANS is largely foreign funded.
Iβm in Barcelona. Which is mostly flat, except where the city climbs up the surrounding hills.
Tight streets with 6-8 floor high rises. The major connecting arteries are busy with cars and lots of buses and thereβs a great subway system too.
And then there are escalators in the steep streets. :))

Years and years of verifying her claims of abuse.
But when a man says βI didnβt do itβ, everyone goes βno, of course he didnβtβ - and nobody bothers to check
There is apparently credible evidence that the president of the United States is a pedophile. The comforting phrase βaccused him without evidenceβ no longer fits this situation, and journalists must resort to the more perfunctory βhasnβt been formally charged.β www.thedailybeast.com/key-details-...

βWell, thanks for the heads-upβ
Trump signed an EO benefitting Bayer, the makers of cancer-linked weedkiller Roundup and deadly munitions component white phosphorus.
It came after Bayer hired top Trumpworld lobbyist Brian Ballard and spent over $9M last year on federal lobbying.
"Drain the swamp."
The combination Tim Houston (bean counter, come from away) + John Lohr (farmer whose daddy bought the land and built the business, born with a silver spoon in his mouth and never took it out) is literally deadly
Imagine the reaction in the US if ~175 schoolgirls had been killed by a targeted Iranian missile. (Or anyone's missile.)
This is an atrocity.
Of course they do.
But Timmie sees only spades in the ground (bulldozers and drill rigs, rather)
βThink about that for a moment: a six-year-old child with a disability suddenly in a different country, separated from the country he has come to know, now surrounded by silence. The horror stories from this White House continue from ICE.β
Iβm in Barcelona - in a hotel! - and saw huge murals today protesting tourism, especially Airbnb.
1. Most Americans outside older cities (NY, Boston, DC) have no other option than to drive to work / school / shopping / recreation bc there is no public transit. Contrary to NL

Oleksandr Dovhach, commander of the 39th tactical aviation brigade, was killed in combat while defending Ukraine.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr Dovhach has taken part in hundreds of combat missions.
Eternal memory and eternal glory to Ukrainian Hero.
Which effing editor let this pass?
