It's been exhausting and bleak, both as an editor and as an author who actually reads papers and writes her own. Let alone knowing that people do this for projects to apply to positions they very possibly get.
We closed today our annual in-person conference after two and a half days of great panels and discussion. We thank our participants for contributing to create a space of (academic) belonging!

Went to rewatch this last night, to pinpoint how it fits the framework I am shaping on current right wing extremism in relation to political trauma and misguided historical interpretation. It has a nice iteration of fantarealismo as well, which is always a treat 💜

We closed our virtual conference with the keynote roundtable "Making It Online: Affinities and Aesthetics of Digital Subcultures" kindly organized and led by @kmsweeneyromero.bsky.social.. such a great way to round off our event, showcasing great work done by ECRs!
Yesterday we had a great first day of virtual conference and it was such a pleasure to have Shellie McMurdo as a keynote on how witnessing and identity work in found footage horror!
As I hadn't had the chance to share it yet, this volume recently came out.. editors were great and it is packed with diverse essays (including mine on the usual 👻)
